Re: Create a link / bookmark / cross-reference or something (in a document / folder) to a text phrase in the same docume

As I’m sure you were told in response to your original post, the comparison between Scrivener and Word, etc. is I mistaken from this pint of view. I do not remember, sorry. But I would say, I do not compare anything here. And how could a / the comparison (if it was one) be mistaken? The text in a W...

Re: Create a link / bookmark / cross-reference or something (in a document / folder) to a text phrase in the same docume

If you put a phrase into its own document So I would have to create a new document in the Binder only for doing this? Everywhere you include that tag, the contents of the document titled "Row your boat" would be substituted upon compile. Upon compile only? ...ah, in the Beta version...I s...

Re: Create a link / bookmark / cross-reference or something (in a document / folder) to a text phrase in the same docume

Hello Jim, Yes, the same question again, many thanks for the link. And thank you for the other link as well. No, no, you understood the question absolutely correctly. I just want an option like / the same option available in Word, OpenOffice or LibreOffice, etc. Respectively one doing the same. Just...

Re: Text gets invisible

Yes, indeed, it looks fine, thank you for trying, sorry, it actually is not the Scrivening mode not working (as far as I know at least) but a folder / document that contains (I guess) at least one item. And that in connection with a setting as it just turned out (I turned off now, so the text got vi...

Re: "File" behaves like "Folder"?

Ah yes, that is it! Yes, absolutely forgot about it respectively wasn't aware of the consequences obviously, sorry.

When I just deactivated that option all open Scrivener projects crashed but now it works again. Great!

And even the invisible text is visible again.

Many thanks.

Re: "File" behaves like "Folder"?

What is the undesirable behavior you're seeing?

That a file (other than a folder does) shows the content of the items it contains.

Re: "File" behaves like "Folder"?

Oops, I always thought a folder shows the content of the items they contain and files don't. It really is and was not like that? So why are there folders and files at all if they differ in its icons only?

"File" behaves like "Folder"?

This item in the binder is a "File" / document but it seems to behave like a "Folder" as it shows the items it contains (dotted lines):

Why is it like this and how could I turn it into a document?

Re: Text gets invisible

If you have several individual Binder documents with 8-9 k words, or even 15-20 k words (!), why would you need scrivenings mode? Sounds like an extremely astonishing question. I would say, for most of the other items (not having "8-9 k words, or even 15-20 k words (!)"). And even if ther...

Re: Text gets invisible

Hello Jim, Many thanks for testing. And great you found the cause. I played around with it a bit, and apparently you've encountered some limitations in Scriv 1.9 Scrivenings mode. Limitations...well... It seems that when word counts in individual documents get into the 8k-9k range, 1.9 Scrivenings s...
