Re: Cannot import .doc files--Beta 2.3[NOTED]

Marta, Larry-- Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I'm still unable to either drag-and-drop or Import files with the .doc extension. If I save the files as .rtf I can import them into Scrivener, so the issue must have something to do with the .doc extension. It's certainly possible to bring file...

Cannot import .doc files--Beta 2.3[NOTED]

I am unable to import any .doc file into Scrivener on either of the two 32-bit computers on which I've installed the program--one with Vista and one with Win 7. I can neither drag-and-drop or use the Import function. The latter imports only the file name, but no text. In all cases I have attempted t...

Re: 5th MARCH - LEE'S UPDATE

You've done such a terrific job so far that it's worth waiting a bit to make sure you're completely satisfied. No point in rushing at the end, especially as we can all continue to use the beta. I've been delighted with Scrivener for Windows, aside from my complete inability to import .doc files (whi...

Still Can't Import Docs--Weird Inconsistency

I'm running Beta 2.1 on two machines: a Toshiba laptop with Vista (with SP2) and an Asus netbook with Win 7. I uninstalled all previous versions of Scrivener before installing 2.1. I am unable to import any .doc files into Scrivener on either computer using the Import function from the File menu. Od...

Re: USER POLL-WHICH 3 FEATURES DO YOU WANT SECOND AFTER RELEASE?

1. Freeform corkboard

2. EPUB and MOBI from Compile

3. Metadata

But the program is terrific as is!

Re: 1.9 Can't Import[BUG LOGGED]

Thanks, Lee. I have utmost confidence that you'll get it fixed. And I should have said that despite the occasional glitch--the nature of the beta beast--I love Scrivener for Windows.

Re: 1.9 Can't Import

@ricgerace-- Thanks for the suggestion. The file did import into Scrivener after I saved it as .txt, although with ridiculously huge para indents that I will have to fix manually. But although I'm happy to have gotten the material into Scrivener, am I wrong in thinking that Scrivener is supposed to ...

1.9 Can't Import[BUG LOGGED]

For the last few updates I've been working with projects I created in Scrivener for Windows. Today I tried for the first time to import a document--one chapter of a novel, in .doc format. I have been unable to import that or any .doc file. I get the Import dialogue window, but when I then Import, I ...

Re: Toolbar inconsistency Beta 1.5

Thanks very much, spitfire! (And in future I'll remember to explore all menu possibilities.)

Not sure how I managed to enable the toolbar on one computer and not on the other, given that I installed the new beta at the same time on both, but the problem has been solved.

Toolbar inconsistency Beta 1.5

I'm running the Beta 1.5 on two computers: a Win Vista laptop and a Win 7 netbook. So far no major problems, and the Import function works fine. I'm puzzled by the fact that the editor presents differently in the two computers. On my laptop I have a formatting toolbar above the < > arrows where the ...

Re: 12th DEC - LEE'S UPDATE

Thanks for all your hard work--it's a wonderful product and will only get better. Don't fret about those negative twitter posts: Take your time, do things right, and everyone will benefit from a stable, robust piece of software. I've been wanting Scrivener for Windows for several years. I am thrille...

Re: 29th NOV - LEE'S UPDATE

Thanks very much, Lee (and the rest of the Scrivener crew). I already love Scrivener for Windows and am sure that I will buy it and use it for all my nonfiction and fiction writing once the program is in full release.

Great job, Lee and Keith! (and formatting note)

I'm running the Windows beta on a Toshiba laptop with Vista and an Asus netbook with Win 7 Starter. No problems at all so far installing, importing, saving, or using (and saving) the Nano Template. I love the program as it is--as additional features come online it will only get better. Thank you ver...
