Have you tried to hide the Inspector and resize the window? If the problem with the cursor persist, I have no other idea.

Just a thought... you have gstreamer installed? (which is the required linux backend)

You could try to back-up the apps (if any) from /.wine/drive_c/Program Files, delete the folder /.wine, run winereg (from Terminal or Alt-F2) to create a new /.wine, reinstall Scrivener for Windows, and see if this way it works. I always use the uninstall program to clean up the WINE one Never trusted the uninstall, I use shift-delete and regedit. Also shift-delete on the native Linux build. P.S. just found that amd64 users need to apt-get install only ia32-libs and ia32-libs-gtk Maybe somebody could post this on that wiki...

I tried with hunspell hunspell-en-us myspell-en-us aspell aspell-en dictionaries-common ispell iamerican wamerican ... no results.

aspell is 0.60.6-4

hehe, thats what i was talking about, concerning the 64 bit requirements... reluctantly, i don't know the versions, etc..., necessary to build the package for 64 bit. i know *what* packages are necessary, at least for ubuntu, but who knows what Fedora/Sid calls the ia32 libraries? tricky stuff! from what i can tell, the standard ia32 libs that come with ubuntu64/fedora64 and so on, seem to be all thats necessary. this makes sense considering the dependencies on i386 are minimal. I am using aptosid xfce amd64 (debian sid) and by default it has no ia32 libs installed. It took me some time t...
