What a shock. I just realized that I never save in Scrivener. Never. The only time I come close is when I do my daily backup. I can't believe it - I used to be compulsive. What's going to become of me if I forget to save on my day job in the Windows world? Disaster. Sheer disaster. Keith, why did yo...

Default Settings

For some future version of Scrivener, would it be possible to add a place in the global preferences for the default widths of the binder, document window, and inspector? I moved files around this morning and lost the settings for several projects. I may be alone in this, but I like to keep the width...

Serious Scrivener Bug

Keith, I've encountered a serious Scrivener bug. As best I can recreate the steps: 1. Get up 2. Write in Scrivener 3. Go to work 4. Come home 5. Eat dinner 6. Plan to read a book 7. Decide to check the Scrivener forum first 8. Look up and realize it's bedtime and the book's still unread. I have been...

I have another use for the append function. I don't necessarily want a snapshot of a whole document before editing, but I do like to back up selected portions of text before making major changes to them. I use append selection to copy the text in question to a special backup file, then go ahead and ...

And my favorite is the new Binder Affects choices. At last, no more losing the document in the top pane because I wasn't careful about which pane I was in when I clicked on the binder. That happend to me all the time and I just couldn't make myself stop and think about where I was before I clicked o...

New Year's Wish

Keith,

Thanks for all you've done with Scrivener this past year. The program has changed my writing life. May you have a happy, healthy, and wonderfully prosperous new year.

And I thought I could live without an iPod. Sigh. There goes the budget.

Paperback Page Count

Under Project Statistics, I still see the Pages (Paperback) count.

The program looks great, Keith. I'm waiting impatiently for the Purchase Scrivener command to work.

I have been using 125%. [For the clear version of things, skip the text just below this and pick up after the asterisks.] This is totally flaky. I tried and tried to duplicate the problem tonight with typewriter scrolling off and on (I am closing and restarting the program between mode changes) and ...

Well, not really. I had the margins set to 0 (but I did try this with them at 20), and I was clicking somewhere in the lower third of the screen. I've been feeling bad all day for going on about this. Chalk it up to my obsessive nature. What drove me crazy was wanting to figure out what was happenin...

Keith, I don't think this is worth the bother, so please don't spend time trying to figure it out. If it were a large issue, other people would be reporting it, so I'm sure it isn't. On the other hand, the problem kept bugging me, so I thought I'd let you know what I found out after doing some exper...

Clicking in a New Document

This is an odd thing - I'm not sure it's a bug. Perhaps an undocumented feature? If I create a new, blank document (in normal view, with no split screen) and then click in the bottom half of the doucment window, the cursor doesn't appear at the top of the document. I have to click approximately half...

As Scrivener goes from a program under development to a finished product, it makes sense that some of the forum groups will gain or lose importance. In the best of all possible worlds, Bug Hunt will go away. Those hoping for a Version 2 will still want Wish List, and Technical Support would be the p...

I like the price - I'm much more willing to buy early on when there isn't too much out of pocket expense. On the other hand, Scrivener is worth much more than this to me. Shall I buy extra licenses to give Keith what it's worth? Maybe he could have a way to donate extra? I very much favor the abilit...
