If not for the wonderful community, I'd have stopped coming to the forum two months ago. 25 second delays between clicking on a link and being able to read the post are the norm. If there's a way to improve response times, I'd welcome it. Is cost a big issue? I have no idea how much getting your own...

I don't have a strong feeling about this either way, so whatever you do is fine with me. One question: if you did make the change, is it possible or practical to have the Trash be one of the separate items? 1) It would stand out better and first timer's wouldn be more inclined to notice it. 2) On pu...

Naming Backup Project Files

When backing up a project to a zip file, the default file name has the date in day-month-year format. Is this order something you determine, Keith? If so, could the format be changed to year-month-day format? That way, when I look at the backup files in the finder, they would sort in order by both n...

An artist scorned today is tomorrow's genius. It's obvious the judges weren't writers, or they have recognized a masterpiece when they saw it. Fortunately, you have many friends who are writers and they do recognize what a great program Scrivener is. Apple may not think you're number one, but we do ...

I've always thought Scrivener was worth far more than the asking price, so $39.95 sounds more than fair to me. On the other hand, I admit to a mental barrier at the $40 mark. I want to be sure I'm going to use a program before I pay more than that. As a matter of curiosity, does it cost any more to ...

Some people do like to look before they download, and some learn better from a visual example. If (if!) Keith ever has spare time, a video that shows a few basic things, like adding a new document to the binder, moving it around, and clicking on several files to create edit Scrivenings session would...

Dave's method is the best way, but you could also try the following in Nisus: 1) Export draft of the documents you want to include 2) Open the exported file in Nisus 3) Put your cursor in one of the annotations (red text) 4) At the bottom of the Nisus Window, click on the underlined letter "a&q...

To restore the dividers to the default single-pixel ones, in Terminal type: delete com.literatureandlatte.Scrivener "SCRNoSinglePixelSplits" I think the command should begin with "defaults"? Now that I have a choice, I can't decide which I like best. Aghh -- choice overload! Any...

Andrew,

I tried this on my machine and each of the document corners reverted to normal as soon as I deleted the snapshot for it.

I hate the present tense. I have put books back on the shelf because it's so jarring. That could be the result of a lifetime spent reading books in the past tense, but it still seems more trendy than immediate to me.

Okay, end of rant. I'll go back to my cave now.

Keith,

I can duplicate this if the folder has the "Page Break Before" box checked in the inspector (all other boxes unchecked). The statistics run okay if this box isn't checked.

I wsan't in edit scrivenings. I had a split widow, but I'd been in the same file the whole time. I did delete one large block of text early in the session - about 500-800 words, but that's the only thing that seemed unusual. That wasn't the part I was undoing, either - it happened some time back. Ma...
