Mouse insert color change in Compose

When in compose mode, the mouse insertion point is not very well visible in a non-black and white setup. Is it possible to customise the mouse insertion point color? Or is it hardwired to the font colour? (even through system preferences if required).

Dual monitors and Compose

I am using a dual-monitor setup and would like to put the binder on my secondary while working in Compose mode on primary monitor. I found this in the manual: "When using two monitors, you can configure Scrivener to use the secondary display as the composition window instead of the primary disp...

Serial broken

Hej!
I migrated from an old 10.6.8 iMac to a Mac Pro with 10.11 but now Scrivener wouldn't accept the serial number. I checked it online on the tech pages and it was okay.
I would appreciate a quick solution since I have to use Scrivener for my work. Thanks!

"Project already open" again

I am receiving the "project already open" error message again, second time in some days. - When closing last time, I had 3 Scriv projects open in parrallel (as usual) - As far as I know, I did quit Scrivener normally, and was not in Full Screen when quitting - After switching on the comput...

Re: Remove timeout please ...

I just upgraded from 12 to 14, so it is up to date. The problem with *both* versions is that when using the Ubuntu Software Center to install the Sriv deb bundle, the Software Center crashes. So I effectively cannot install Scrivener the "easy way" but would have to resort on the terminal....

Re: Anyone Running a Hackintosh??

That is a specious argument. Your logic means that I no longer need to follow any law or ethical position of another party breaks a law or ethical position. Not really. I don't promote breaking laws, I ask for some critical thinking about ethical behaviour of a company when weighting ethical or mor...

Re: font jump

OK thanks. I just thought there might be some possibility to mark the glyphs as "separate font" that does not stretch further upon typing. Another solution could be a Composer-Only custom font that would always use a certain font and glyph style no matter what the font stile in the main me...

Re: font jump

Funny, just wanted to report the same issue. It is annoying when you have to use custom quotes, for example. The Scriv font quote symbol is converted into apples font style. Since the replacement takes place after typing, you can continue in your Scriv font style. But when you want to insert a word ...

Quot'n mark styles bound to project

I am working for different publishers that want (for reasons unknown to me, to be honest; it is just the script stage ...) their own quotation mark styles in scripts. For example, one wants German, one American. Now, instead of changing the global quotation style every time, is there a way to bind a...

Remove timeout please ...

A story idea just wants to get out into the wild, being written down and explored, but oh joy, Scrivener wouldn't start because it is time-out time for the Linus version, please install current version. Since Packet Manager/SoCe on Ubuntu 12.04 doesn't do the job, I am now loosing the idea while hac...

Re: Anyone Running a Hackintosh??

I have never run MacOS on a Windows machine using a virtual machine because doing so is ethically ambiguous ... I am sorry to interrupt and certainly do not want to get political, but I may ask how the term "ethical" applies to a company like Apple which does such beauties here: "iCl...

Re: Shutting down while Scriv open=>corrupted project

Very good, thanks! Let's go hunting. ⋅  Were the JPEG and PDF files added fairly recently? ⋅  How long would you estimate your computer session was, from start-up to shut-down (not counting sleep)? ⋅  What percentage of that time was this project open? Unfortunately thi...

Re: Shutting down while Scriv open=>corrupted project

Hej, it happened again, two times in a row. Traceroute: Up-to-date version of Scrivener for Mac, 2.5 . OS X 10.6.8 (last). - Scriv project open in Space 2. - Working with another application in Space 1. - Quitting program in Space 1, shutting down computer while Scrivener project was still open in S...

Encoding issue with .doc files

Quick note, maybe I have missed something:
When importing a MS word .doc file with special characters (äöüß) the encoding is not correctly detected, thus changing all special characters to some weird chinese looking symbols.

No problem with RTF files.

Current version of Scriv, mac 10.6.
