Re: Big screen 4K UHD TVs as big high res displays for Scrivener

You can do this with most modern Macs too (they all support 4K). The cable is the only bit you need tow worry about as in this brave new world cables now have versions... (1.x - 2.0), which support caring degrees of resolution (2k-4k), 3D, networking and audio. Oh and if you have one of the new MacB...

Re: Any chance of a 64 bit version?

At least under OS X Scrivener uses bugger all memory: ~200Mb with my current 150,000 word project (double that length with notes & dozens of references images and docs). But all those files mean, potentially, a lot of disk IO, so a slow disk (non SSD) could impact performance more than RAM. My o...

Re: iPad Pro support for the upcoming iOS version

The iPad Pro is rather delicious - the deal was (in this house) that I got a 2015 Macbook (also gorgeous) for writing and my wife an iPad Pro for artwork. As art machines the new iPads are incredible. My bank account is empty.

Re: Target over year end

Heh. Well you're right! If you type the digits quickly, you can enter 2016. Looks like if there's a delay off more than ~250ms, it only lets you enter two digits. You can still use the spin dial and end up with years ranging from 1 to 9999, it appears. Which is a somewhat bizarre bit of UX! I'm fixe...

*shrugs* I give up. Scrivener can't count!

Re: Target over year end

Retested - it's definitely something weird with that field. If I hit the spin buttons I can (eventually) get it to 2016, but it refuses to let me type in any more than two characters. Here are my system settings for reference: Screen Shot 2015-11-26 at 10.22.00.png Screen Shot 2015-11-26 at 10.22.22...

Re: Target over year end

Then we have a different bug :) Field won't accept 4-digit year. I even tried restarting Scrivener, no luck.

Target over year end

Trying to create a deadline for the end of January next year, but Scrivener isn't playing ball:

Re: proof reader services

Be warned: Grammarly doesn't play nice with Scriveners 'smart quotes', so can actually introduce some inconsistent formatting. I love the service, but this glitch is annoying. Won't stop me using it though :) Edit: It has been raised as a feature request with Grammarly. And integration as a feature ...

Grammarly integration would be awesome - it's a fantastic service, but slightly awkward to fit in the scrivener workflow.

Re: Strange alignment in some character templates

*sigh*. El Capitan seems particularly littered with weird UI glitches like this. While the OS seems rock-solid stable, UI polish is definitely lacking... Beta indeed.

Split buttons (please!)

This is a tiny UI thing, but it's be really nice to change some of the menu buttons - where they can reveal a dropdown - became split buttons. Press & hold over un-split buttons is fractionally more error prone (from a UX point of view) since the introduction of pressure sensitive trackpads (For...

Strange alignment in some character templates

Just noticed this today. About 50% of the 'character' templates in my current project have become heavily indented. Other document types (so far) seem fine. Not critical, but CBA fixing them given I should be actually writing... but what gives? OS X 10.11.1, Scrivener 2.7.0 Screen Shot 2015-11-03 at...
