Re: Considering Mac to iPad switch — features?

If you do nothing but write, I can see how an iPad might be a good solution. I don't, so it wasn't for me. And it has often occurred to me to reflect that people who extoll the virtues of certain hardware or software are usually telling you as much about the kind of work they do, and the way they d...

Re: Considering Mac to iPad switch — features?

What features you'll miss sorta kinda depends on what features are important to you. You will get way more useful feedback if you provide some info on how *you* currently use Scrivener, so we can tell you how that will change. Hi Jim! This is exactly the sort of feedback I was looking for, thank yo...

Considering Mac to iPad switch — features?

TLDR: What features might I miss moving from Mac to iPad & any gotchas? Long: I’ve been using Scrivener on macOS for the best part of a decade, but my wee writing MacBook is starting to show its age. My wife exclusively uses an iPad Pro without ever missing her laptop, and after a long play in t...

Re: Toolbar customisation doesn't fit on screen (MacBook, 12")

I have therefore reported the bug to Apple (Apple bug ID #49108443). I bet they respond to say that they don't intend to fix it, though, and that I shouldn't be offering users so many toolbar button options! Thanks, Keith. Not a big bug I guess, and an Apple one at as you say. Thanks for the explin...

Re: Toolbar customisation doesn't fit on screen (MacBook, 12")

Try increasing your screen resolution temporarily to max. Please let me know if this workaround works for you. Thanks. Given this is an edge-case use (how ofted does someone adjust their tools, while full screen, on a 12" Mac!), I'm fine with just restoring the window rather than adjusting the...

Toolbar customisation doesn't fit on screen (MacBook, 12")

Scrivener 3.1.2 macOS 10.14.3 MacBook 12" (2015) To reproduce: 1. Scrivener running full-screen (built in display) 2. Right-click to customise toolbar. Issue: The modal doesn't fit, with the action button off the bottom of the screen. Escape (or enter) removes the modal, but that's not intuitiv...

Lightroom, and others. But you could have found that out yourself.

Aye, Adobe apps are very non-standard, preferring their own UI implementations (even after years, they don't apply fundamental native UI behaviour like full-screen or spaces correctly on macOS).

Re: Strange windowing behaviour (macOS)

By default, the Preferences (under "Behaviors") are set to hide the full screen window, so you should un-check that option to solve (2). The issue of search/replace being greyed out should already have been fixed for the next update. If you add a new document, Composition mode won't show ...

Re: Functionality Priority Roadmap!!!

I'm not really sure what is required on our part to add Grammarly support, but bear in mind that I'm a single programmer with many demands, so it is not possible to prioritise everything. Moreover, any time we add support for one particular service, ten other services contact us wanting equal suppo...

Strange windowing behaviour (macOS)

1) Full-screen Scrivener. Activate composition mode. You now have the regular full-screen Scrivener window, plus the composition window, in two different spaces (which is what I'd expect). 2) Now, this time don't full-screen Scrivener before entering composition mode. The composition space is fine,...

Re: Wattpad (Grammarly)

Grammarly support is high on my wish-list (followed by Touchbar integration). I use Grammarly daily in all my writing, but sadly not my creative writing as the round trip workflow of Scrivener > Grammarly > Scrivener is... tedious.

Re: Any chance of a 64 bit version?

macOS High Sierra will continue to run 32-bit applications - it will be the last version of macOS to do so. So Scrivener 2 will continue to run fine on macOS High Sierra. Apple will stop accepting 32-bit updates to app on the Mac App Store as of January. Scrivener 3 will be out before then. Thanks ...

Re: macOS Sierra

Given this was released to the wild earlier in the week, my machines are now all switched over to Sierra. I'm not seeing any issue at the moment. Even Siri seems happy to launch Scrivener if I ask her nicely. I'm curious, when it comes to the iCloud integration, whether Apple has actually solved som...

Re: Dropbox backdooring / security

Cool, interesting responses. I do think it's over-hyped, but anything that raises awareness over general security is a good thing. Any cloud service is a risk—easy to forget.
