Re: Online Sharing/Editing like Google Docs?

Just to support, yes, actual shared/collaborative editing would be, and as @wordjoy recalls, has been a mammoth technical and logistics challenge. This is why I suggest using Google Docs etc. if you want to do it, for something that works. It isn't 'just' any matter of file locking or server farms, ...

Re: Online Sharing/Editing like Google Docs?

Katherine, I wonder if you're thinking of Mac Scrivener, in mentioning 'Import and Merge', or imply ing Project Merge, which seems according to manuals one previous ability which may not make it into Windows Scrivener 3? This may be a wise decision, if so, as such merging even from originally same p...

Re: Please allow us to purchase a license for the Windows Scrivener beta

Just realized from @rdale's comment, though, likely why the wave of irritation from not-yet-updaters. It may well be too much work at this stage, however, to go back and implement a go-to-updater rather than simple refuse-out-of-date mechanism. So that's understood as well.. But maybe in the future,...

Re: [B40] Problems with Scrivener for iOS

Hmm. You mention iPad2, but that article seems to be about adding fonts with iOS 13, while an (original) iPad 2 or iPad Mini can't go above iOS 9. As well, the app they mention, Fonteer, can only be used at iOS 11 or above. There are a couple of apps that show up for this on my oriiginal iPad on iOS...

Re: [B40] Problems with Scrivener for iOS

Ok, I was curious here, as haven't used the iPad Scrivener more than a little recently, just to see it was alive. I found a number of problems around Styles. This has always been a fraught area, and it's not an easy one, as early Microsoft Word Styles might remind. On the other hand, Scrivener iOS r...

another super list of fixes

Just a deserved compliment to Tiho and Lee, for all that's clearly getting done each time these releases pop up.

It's truly impressive -- as is Scrivener Windows 3 in so many regards by now...

Thank you indeed

Re: Some problems in Chinese writing

Just to note for better detail, and so KunKun's excellent reporting doesn't get lost, since it's not getting 'filed' and given appropriate LH numbersyet: - the problem with cursor not going to end on Chinese, and no doubt other languages - the problem with the MathType result not fully showing. - I ...

Re: Some problems in Chinese writing

As I kind of suspected from a small knowledge of Chinese characters from life in Korea, it looks pretty unlikely that an actual word count could be put into Scrivener. In fact, even Microsoft Word doesn't do it. It does offer a character count, as does Scrivener. I found some material from translato...

Re: B40 Incorrect text wrapping in screenplay mode

Hmm. I thought to try this out on a non-Script, and there's a problem, but what I noticed appears to be a different one, looking back at your pictures. So let's look there first. I can't eye-measure it closely enough, but if you type 'everyone' letter by letter, does it actually wrap as you get to t...

Re: Beta updates do not remove older versions

A much better (safer) idea than fooling with the Registry is to use the 'old' Windows Control Panel. This is still there, and still absolutely necessary for several key tasks. To get it, just click the Start (window panes) button, and type control p -- that will be enough. Then click the Control Pan...

Re: Is the Beta safe for real work?

Gothelittle, I think it's useful to realize he's talking about _backups_ , which are separate from the auto-saves you are nicely noticing. - Scrivener auto-saves whatever you've been typing on screen, a few seconds later, yes. That's what you would hit the Save icon or ctrl-S in Word for, just to ge...

Re: windows beta with shortened trial period?

To be honest, I'm finding it really difficult to fathom this 'poor me, betas' from some -- not just you. Suppose you lived in a large house. You hire an improvement in the west wing. You live in the house as ever, and every few weeks the workmen have an improvement to show...in the part of the house...
