Re: Confirm Close

I agree that most of the time it is a pain in the a**, but it would be nice to have it as an option; one that could be managed via preferences. Thus most users would probably choose to not have the warning; others would -- at least some of the time. SO, given your response, I doubt it will be of hig...

Confirm Close

I am using Scrivener interactively with two or three other programs, thus sometimes it takes the focus and sometimes not. Several times now I have wanted to minimize it but instead close it. Is it possible to have a 'confirm this close' before the file closes. It is not a big thing, and usually I do...

Re: What if I Wrote & Nobody Bought?

To some degree I suppose it is what you are writing about, but even the dry text of legalese, which may not permit too much creativity regarding content, lends itself to gaining experience in writing clearly and simply so others will understand. I find that my writing, which is rarely for sale as su...

Re: Online passwords

An approach I use is to take a series of numbers (e.g. 3 or 34 or 345 or your old address number) and then extend it out to 'n' digits (say 8: thus 34 becomes 34343434) and then take the hex value of that number which, in this case is 20C0A0A and use that, or a variant such as 20C0a0a or 20c0a0a or ...

Re: Word and suchlike

I like NWP and use it as my default editor for stuff I write. BUT, it is NOT fully compatible with Word. NWP can read and write .docx files and has a very nice version of track changes, which seems to work well with the Mac version of Word (at the 2007 version level). However, I am editing a fairly ...

Re: How to stay in cork board mode? (saving clicks!)

In all honesty, I am not certain. The behaviour has returned to normal now. I have used this command many times and do not think that I am mixing up Shift and CMD; however, I recently purchased a new keyboard (non-Mac, although machine is Mac) and maybe have not totally become comfortable with it. T...
