Storing non-Scrivener documents in Scrivener folder

Is Scrivener going to bitch and whine if I do things outside of Scrivener in the Scrivener folder? I have some standard folders and documents for my writing projects that so far I haven't been able to emulate in Scrivener. Like, for instance, the folder for timeline data, and the data itself. I see ...

Re: Still Alive!!

Good news! Glad to hear from you again, Matt.

it is too early for me to start forecasting the next release date.

Hopefully it'll be before June 30, when the current beta runs out!

Age at first event does not show age

Hi: I'm beginning to like this product, but I have a few comments. When creating person entities, in order to avoid having an event for their birth, I decided to use the Manage Entities dialog, and Set age at first event. I set up an event which would be a good introduction point for some of my mino...

Hide story arc doesn't affect Entity view

Using 0.4.4 on 10.6.3 Great idea behind the software. So far I like the concept. One thing I've seen so far that I wish was different: when I hide a story arc, the items in that story arc are still visible when I return to the entity view. I've created entities for my main characters, and given them...

Re: Exporting a book

Oh! Yes, sorry about that, the end of text thing is in the same tab as the scene separator compile setting, but in the upper-right. Just uncheck “Mark end of text with:” and you should be golden. Found it, thanks. That’s interesting. When I export with the header option turned on, as RTF, and then ...

Re: Exporting a book

Thanks, AmberV The ` <<<<<>>>>>> ` you are seeing is very likely being generated in the second tab of the Compile sheet, where you can set up scene separators (upper-left). Just delete the contents of that field if you do not want scene separations. Nope, the <<<<<>>>>> seems to be an alternative to...

Exporting a book

I'm definitely missing something in spite of having gone through the tutorial, the faq and several searches of the forum. Maybe I'm just using the wrong search keys. I have opened a project with the Novel Standard Manuscript Format, and I got a Binder with the following: Manuscript Title Page CHAPTE...

Re: Font change on import/export

OK I think I've got the export problem licked. Or maybe it's just gone away.

I can duplicate the import problem if I import odt, but if I import rtf everything is fine.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Project links become document links

... But as an aside to this: are your ODF documents fairly intricate in terms of formatting? Because the storage of text files is one thing you shouldn't have to worry too much about in Scrivener, in terms of project size bloat. Most project bloat issues only crop up when there are gigabytes of mul...

Font change on import/export

I created a test chapter yesterday, using courier. I noticed that when I exported it, the text was in courier but the automatic chapter heading was in times roman. Today I imported an ODF document which was in courier. After import it was in times roman. Are these bugs in the Apple text app rtf conv...

Re: Project links become document links

Well, I'm glad about that! Thought I was more stupid than I thought. :?

Did it work in 1.5.3, which I think is still lying around on my system? Be nice to have it whilst I wait for 1.5.5.

Project links become document links

I'm missing something. I'm trying to use links to limit the number of documents in the project. I have a folder outside of the Scrivener project for my character notes. Each character has a detailed ODF file. To avoid overloading the Research folder, and to make editing these easier, I decided to cr...
