Re: Pressing "down" when on the last line of text

Ah, that's a bummer, then. I know some Windows do it the Mac (proper) way, which is what got me thinking about this.

Pressing "down" when on the last line of text

On the Mac version, pressing "down" on the last line of text moves the cursor to the end of that line. In the Windows version, it does nothing. Is this a limitation of the frameworks used in the Windows versions? Is this intentional? Any chances of the Windows version getting the same beha...

Re: Scrivener crashes on opening project

Well, a little embarrassing I didn't try this sooner, but...

I just reinstalled Scrivener. It works fine now. So this thread can be disregarded now.

Re: Scrivener crashes on opening project

An update: Last night, upon opening it on the Mac, Scrivener told me the project was open on another computer and asked if I would like to work on a copy. I said yes. Once the copy was created, I closed the program. I then waited for Dropbox to sync, then turned on my Windows PC, waited for it to sy...

Re: Scrivener crashes on opening project

I have 2.x on my Mac (whatever the newest version is). I'm 90% certain I've opened the project on Windows before, back when I used it as a trial several months ago. I only recently bought the Windows version during the recent sale.

Re: Scrivener crashes on opening project

Thanks for the reply. Scrivener seems to actually be crashing--Task Manager says "not responding" if I open the project after launching Scrivener, and the Task Manager doesn't show the Scrivener process at all if I open the project from Explorer. I do use Dropbox; however, I follow the saf...

[FIXED] Scrivener crashes on opening project

Today I went to open my main project on Scrivener for Windows, only to have it crash during open (no window showed up; no error message). Alarmed, I went to my Mac, where it still opens perfectly (thankfully). Some details: - The file was originally created with the Mac version of Scrivener; I belie...

Re: iPad or iPad Mini for writing?

Another thing to consider besides screen size is keyboard size. If you plan on still using your current keyboard, then you're fine, but if you want to get a keyboard case, the Mini's keys will be a lot smaller. I was considering the Mini until I realized this; now I'm planning on getting the Air. It...

Re: Can't open project from Mac

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately (well, in this case it is unfortunate), my Mac is running the latest version of Scrivener 2. I checked the version.txt file as well, and the number it has is also 16.

Looks like it's time to write an email to tech support. Thanks.

Re: Can't open project from Mac

Sadly, that also does not work. It just returns to the selection screen.

Can't open project from Mac

I have Scrivener on my Mac, and share my files via Dropbox (if it's relevant). I just downloaded the Windows Scrivener trial and attempted to open one of my existing projects that was created on my Mac (OS X Lion). When opening the project file (Project.scriv/Project.scrivx), Scrivener tells me it's...

Re: Advantages of Lion

I much prefer Lion over any other incarnation of OS X. That said, it's not perfect, and has some regressions. 1. Expose groups app windows together, making it difficult to find a specific window if you have many open for a particular app. App Expose helps with this, but it's still a step backwards f...

Professional editing services?

I am near to finished with my final revision of my first novel. After my readers get back to me on it, I'm going to decide whether to start looking for a publisher or just go the self-publishing route. But before that happens, I'm wondering if I should look into a professional editing service. The o...

Re: The rise of e-reading

I got a Kindle two months ago, and was reading exclusively on it--to the point of acquiring digital versions books I already owned but haven't, through less official channels. There are a few things I really like about it: - Portability. I read long books and often hardbacks. A Kindle is a lot small...
