Re: chapter 16 of manual

Ahh, in that case may I add the missing sections listed on page 92 to the list?

I always feel bad about pointing out manual errata as I know its a work in progress etc. That said, it is a work of beauty.

Re: Links to external documents

I'm not sure to be honest. I thought that dragging an image file into Scriv always imported it as an image as opposed to an external link. I tried dragging various files in with the option and CMD keys pressed in different combinations but in all cases the file came in as an image rather than a link...

It's in the Format menu: Format -> Show/Hide Format Bar. The keyboard shortcut is Shift+CMD+R

Re: Typewriter mode won't turn off

Have you tried pressing CMD+CTRL+T?

Typewriter mode is set independently for the main editors, QuickReference panes and the full screen editor. The above keystroke will toggle it on and off.

What a remarkable co-incidence! We were conveying our admiration with regards to this redoubtable utility to our old friends Frederic Foskett and Uriah Pipe only the other day.

Re: In an endless loop updating my old scrivener project

Hmm, I'm not sure quite what the underlying problem is but here's what I'd do to if I was experiencing this. Firstly, are you sure you're giving it long enough to do the conversion? It may be that for some reason there is a file or other setting in there which it needs to spend a bit longer on. When...

If you double-click the picture you'll get a set of controls where you can adjust the size :)

Re: can't set text background colour in 2.0

Aha, I found it. If it doesn't change at first, try selecting a different colour palette mode (I used the wheel) and changing the colour in that. This worked for me.

Re: Changing default font in 2.0

It's always worth searching the manual, especially now that its in PDF format. There is a nice section on all things formatty in section B.7 - "Formatting" on page 290 :P

Glad you got it working ok!

Re: highlight colors repeated

No problem. The highlighter will refer to your custom swatch yes, you need to make sure you have the 'scrivener' palette selected in there when you dive into the custom colours area, but I found that with the manual to hand it was all pretty straightforward. Hopefully it'll give you the information ...

Re: i purchased the upgrade it did not work

First rule of computer worries. Don't panic! I'm not clear on exactly what you are saying, but it sounds as if your old files are in a location that you were relying on Scrivener to find for you. Certainly there is no reason that installing Scrivener into your Applications directory should have dama...
