Re: Search by word count?

Thanks so much! The technical approach works great, but I'm finding some problems with it.

If I put 800 as the number in, I'm pulling up some documents, including one, for example, with 3500 words.

But if I alter the number to 2000 -- suddenly all of them disappear. Any idea what's going on?

Search by word count?

Is it possible to search for all documents in a project that have more than a certain number of words? In some projects I have a lot of documents that are empty and used for organizational purposes, or might just have a few sentences, and I want to extract those that have longer pieces in them if th...

OS X autocorrect in Scrivener?

I'm a little confused about how the autocorrect in Scrivener works. Is it its own thing, or does it borrow from the OS X autocorrect & its dictionaries, etc.? If the latter -- there seems to be some strange inconsistencies. For example, if in Textedit I type "flowign" it corrects it au...

Organizing notes across projects?

So I've got lots of little bits and pieces across different projects that might relate to each other. For example, I might have, in various projects, several pieces that each pertain to possible articles I might write. What's the most effective & efficient way -- in Scrivener or using a third-pa...

Import autocorrect from Word

I have a ton of Autocorrect entries in Word that I've created over the years. It would be wonderful if Scrivener could use or import them.

Autocapitalizing after "vs."

Currently Scrivener autocapitalizes after "vs.", and of course that's usually unwarranted. If that could be fixed it'd be much appreciated.

A better autocorrect?

Are there any programs out there that have vastly superior versions of autocorrect? It seems to me that, for example, writing in Scrivener or Word, there are so many opportunities for the computer to autocorrect where it doesn't. I can keep adding custom autocorrect words, but that is tiresome. Ther...

Global search term disappears when "reveal in binder" used?

I don't know if this should be considered a bug, but I'm running Scrivener v 2.4.1, and when I put a term in the global search field, and it returns results, and then I right click a result and Reveal in Binder -- the search term disappears. This seems like it might be a bug, since there's no reason...

Autocorrect spelling errors

Any chance there could be an option to add autocorrect entries to Scrivener? When for example I type "taht" it would be extremely helpful to be able to tell Scrivener to automatically change it to "that". Now it could work via spell check and/or import entries from Word's spell c...

Easy template for professional-looking ebook?

So I want to publish an e-book. I've seen some of the Scrivener formatting guides for e-books out there -- but here's the catch. I'm aesthetically tone deaf. I'm terrible with fonts, layouts, styles, etc. Are there any templates out there that include: -all the chapter heading and font styles in a w...

Re: Capitalization after "vs."

Hasn't the period been dropped from the end of "vs" these days anyway Has it?? Not in the publications I read I guess :-). Certainly it's still there in any of the big magazines/newspapers. But I guess as a long-term language trend it makes sense, the word definitely being more sleek and ...

Capitalization after "vs."

I don't know if this is a bug exactly, but Scrivener automatically capitalizes the next word after "vs." as if it were the start of a new sentence, which I think is generally inaccurate.

Constant backup of all changes: never lose text

Is there a way that Scrivener can include an option to simply automatically save everything ever written in a Scrivener document, including all changes and erasures -- not just at project open or close, but constantly and automatically? I think it would be tremendously useful for Scrivener users to ...
