Colour scheme and presets

Hi, I've been using Scrivener for some years now and I thought I used to be able to open a new project with my presets and colours schemes but, for some reason, this is no longer possible. I have saved presets and colour schemes but when I click on them nothing happens. I have recently bought new co...

Re: Project Find and Replace

Thanks, I do seem to have made it work today. One thing though, it would be great to know how many times a particular term was changed. That would always be an indication as to whether settings had been right (whole project/manuscript or selection). All it says is that the project has been updated, ...

Project Find and Replace

Hi, I spent ages this morning trying to do a 'complete project' find and replace without success. I eventually had to go to each chapter (somehow I think scenes may have been included but without reading the whole book cannot be sure). What am I doing wrong? I could not find how to do this from the ...

Keywords/tags

I have half a novel written and would like now to start using keywords as tags but am a bit unsure how to go about it. It seems to me to be something one should do at the outset, perhaps tagging each chapter or scene along the way. Is it too late to do it when you have a substantial body of text? If...

Headings disappear when compiling!!

Hi, I've not had any trouble with compile before but now, I cannot get it to bring my chapter and scene headings with it when compiling to anything...Word. rtf...nothing. It won't work with the whole manuscript (or 'draft') and it won't work with just one chapter with scenes. Headings have disappear...

Re: Synopsis and Binder

Now I'm truly embarrassed - I posted a great big post on this topic - with pictures - only to find I was clicking on wrong things so my question is a nonsense. My apologies. However, I am still puzzled by one other thing...when I click on outline, the text (not the headings) is in yellow and I canno...

Synopsis and Binder

Hi, I'm going quite nuts...for some reason, my may folders (Chapter headings) and blocks of text beneath (parts of chapters) appear ok in Binder and in the Corkboard BUT it is all scrambling in the Synopsis section which seems to pick up text in the chapter parts and make it appear where one would e...

Re: exporting before completing a manuscript

Thanks a lot. Glad you told me to use compile - I'd hate to have multiple rtf word files to manipulate. I guess that would only be useful if I want to reimport back to Scrivener. The main thing for me is that Scrivener keeps my file intact. Cheers, Lindy

exporting before completing a manuscript

Hi, This is probably a dumb question but I don't want to risk exporting without being sure of the answer. If I export an entire manuscript as .rtf for editing in Word, does the entire manuscript remain in Scrivener? I want to just play for a while in Word to see whether I want to continue that way b...

Page size and going potty

I am going nuts trying to get a new file to have the same page appearance as others. For some reason, no matter how often I check preferences (I set it for 3.17 and 2.54 i.e., standard A4 size) with the new document I cannot make the text go to the margin. Older project files are fine. Also, when I ...

Is this a bug?

Hi, I was working in MS Word for Mac 2008 just now and pressed 'command/shift/enter' hoping it would force a new page and, lo and behold, The Scrivener 2.0 Scratch Pad popped up. Scrivener was live but no projects open. It does not happen if I Quit Scrivener but it seemed a bit random so I thought I...

Moving links

HI, I imported a document from the desktop to the project reference pane in the Inspector. When I moved the original document to a folder, it would not open in the project reference pane. When I returned it to the desktop it would open. In order to have the document in my may document folder on the ...
