Re: Best free word processor

I like Bean. I ended buying Nisus b/c I needed a bit more in the way of features that Bean doesn't have but I still use it from time to time for quick edits.

Re: Scrivener 1.12 beta 1 now available for testing

[quote="KB"]I'm not really sure what you mean. The contextual menu looks fine to me. Where is the missing text? There are items greyed out that aren't available for the selection, but I can't see any missing text... Could you elaborate? Oh, wait, I see that "Label" is missing. Go...

Re: Scrivener 1.12 beta 1 now available for testing

This may have been reported but I've run across some missing text in the right-click menu. I've just attached a screenshot. Basically, I just right-clicked on the folder in the binder.

Re: Dropbox

Count me in the impressed group. I like that I can use this at work when I need to get at something that was previously at home on my Mac. I'm basically replacing my thumb drive at this point which is nice b/c I always forgot it/misplaced it anyway. Still not sure if I will pay for the service once ...

Dropbox

Don't know if anyone is interested but I can currently invite people to try out the excellent Dropbox. It's basically online storage with version control and it's cross platform. According to the forums it also works nicely with Scrivener. Send me an email at rbrimhall at gmail dot com and mention L...

Thanks Amber. I had never really thought of using the outliner part of OmniFocus but based on your post I'm going to give it a try. For awhile I was using too many contexts and my task manager became somewhat of a task to maintain. I'm not into GTD in any kind of pure sense. I've never read the book...

AmberV, Thanks for your OmniFocus posts! Very helpful for me as I've been trying to wrap my brain around how to use this program. The Contexts still baffle me though. I understand the location based but what about state of mind based like "writing"? Just curious how contexts worked with yo...

Siren,
Things can't do recurring tasks yet (I think) but they are on the to do list for an upcoming release from what I can tell.

It's down to Things and Omnifocus for me. I like them both though... decisions, decisions...
