Re: Apple iPad & Scrivener

Did you see what its dock looks like?

Well, without Scrivener, this is pretty much useless for me. The price is a little crazy too. Ah, well.

Apple iPad & Scrivener

Well, Apple is releasing their iPad. The event isn't over yet, but it looks like one great big honkin' iPhone. In fact, it runs every iPhone app right out of the box. It's the perfect portability platform! As far as I can tell, this leaves out all the long-established OS X applications. Ugh. So? Scr...

Re: Not exactly writers block

I've never found forced writing to be particularly good writing. Take a little time off. Daydream about your characters. I like Apollo16's idea about interviewing the character. Find a throwaway character in your book, one whose story is irrelevant to moving the plot forward, and write his or her ba...

Re: Should I pay $900 for Scrivener? Newbie needs help!

I'm a longtime Mac user, but am just as 'comfortable' using Windows software - I know a LOT of workarounds and what hoops I need to jump through to get the PC to do what I want it to do. Then I started writing my book. I went through several word processing programs, including MS Word for Mac before...

Re: Time line based on ideas not just time

If a timeline feature can't be integrated and has to be tacked on, then it is better left to another application, the developer of which can dedicate his or her time to timeline-specific features (such as Aeon Timeline, being developed by a Scriv user). Use something similar to what you've already ...

Re: TOCs?

As the others say, no, Scrivener can't generate a table of contents. That's not what Scrivener is for - Scrivener is for the first draft stage. All the same, it would be tremendously helpful. 2.0? I'm sure you don't have enough on your plate with the other features you need to implement and a newbo...

Re: Online Copyright Submission

I suppose it's slightly off topic... or is now... but I just went ahead and submitted my work to the copyright office online.

Relatively painless. We'll see how it goes from here.

Anyone know a good agent who is looking for a fantasy writer?

Re: Forum Help: BBCode not working?

There's a setting at the bottom of the area where you write your post, under "Options" - ensure "Disable BBCode" isn't turned on. I'm not sure why this seems to happen to some people. Check your profile settings, too. I'm afraid I'm not a PHPBB expert - I just install the thing,...

Forum Help: BBCode not working?

The last two posts I made (not that I make many) disabled BBCode on me. I can't find where to turn them back on.

Is that a bug or a feature?
