Re: Anyone Planning for NaNo 2009?

Thanks for the words of comfort-I wondered how you managed not to make mistakes. I will eagerly check out those articles too.

I realised the text was from last year-that's why I wondered if you'd had a chance to publish it. Please let me know when you do-I want to know what happens!

Re: Anyone Planning for NaNo 2009?

Anyone got any advice for a newbie? I share your difficulty in working out plots, but I've found that Scrivener's Outliner function is close enough to 3x5 cards that it doesn't handicap me like a pen-and-paper outline does. That said, you're likely not wired the same way I am, so what works for me ...

Re: Anyone Planning for NaNo 2009?

Just signed up today. I had never heard of NaNo before I bought Scrivener a few weeks ago, but I like the idea. Don't know if I'll be able to even start, but I would love to try. If I do it I don't know what I'll produce though! I'm not good at working out plots, and I've always been verbose (talkin...

Re: fighting the shopping frenzy

I just bought a new MacBook Air- to use alongside my year-and-a-half old MacBook which has extra RAM etc and a faster processor. I thought the MBA (with SSD) would be ideal for Uni and portability (I'm disabled, and small differences in weight really matter to me). But here's the thing-the MBA feels...

Re: Best s/w for starting Uni.

Very cool. 8) I think you'll like Notebook (I've liked all the programs like it I've tried) and Word will do just fine, despite the dislike most of us have towards it. :D Regarding bibliographic software, the honest truth is you probably don't need it for undergraduate study, it doesn't really come ...

Re: Best s/w for starting Uni.

Thanks everyone for your very helpful comments so far. I will be doing Undergraduate work over 6 years part-time. I have used Word 2008, and I don't mind it too much. It is slow and crashes quite a lot, but if it's best, I'll use it. My Uni requires both paper and electronic submission. I just got C...

Best s/w for starting Uni.

I know there are other similar threads around, but I'm looking for specific advice. I am about to start Uni, and would love some ideas on what the best s/w is for me. I love Scrivener, but I need to look at other types of software. The most important is bibliographic s/w. I've never used it before. ...

Re: The status of the next update and 2.0

I don't see that you have any need to worry about this (unless of course the economy totally collapses and no one can afford food!). I bought the full version this morning, and I decided to pay the normal price rather than apply for the education discount, because it's worth every penny. I shall loo...

Flawless purchase experience!

I upgraded my trial version to the full version this morning, and I just wanted to thank you for how easy it is. Everything just works, a pleasant change from the only other time I have ever tried to purchase online (with Windows!). I now have the full version on my laptop, and am looking forward to...

Reordering documents using the arrow keys

I'm still getting used to both the software and the forums so please forgive me if you can already do this, but rather than using the mouse to drag and drop files up and down in the binder (which I find hard to do accurately) I would love to be able to use the arrow keys and the command or control k...

Re: Scrivener USB Pill now available

I really enjoy using the trial version, and want to purchase, but am keen to get the software on physical media as my new laptop is not connected to the internet. The USB Pill looks ideal, but my new laptop is a MacBook Air, and from the pictures I doubt it will fit in the USB port. If it does great...
