REGISTERING SCRIVENER - a nightmare

After a very happy trial period with Scrivener this month, I purchased it this morning. Now I am unable to register it. I have tried EVERYTHING. Typing the name and number. Retyping them. Typing them again. Cutting and pasting them. SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF THE LUNGS IN FRUSTRATION SO MY NEIGHBORS WO...

Re: using keywords to compile a draft

Thanks Keith. I'm looking forward to Version 2.0 -- not like the current version isn't already amazing!

using keywords to compile a draft

Is it possible to compile a draft by using keywords? I have a very long story and I'm trying to carve out a shorter version. I tagged about 40 different cards with the keyword "shorter" and I would like to see what my outline looks like if I print just those 40 synopsis's. Is there a way t...

Re: Scrolling down...

How do i shift the focus so that it's in the Binder? I seem to have done it without trying and I'm able to scroll down right now, but I'm sure I'll run into this problem again.

Scrolling down...

I am trying to use the page-down-arrow-key to scroll through documents in the BINDER. For some reason it isn't working and therefore I have to move the cursor and click on every document in order to scroll downward. I feel like there must be a simpler way to do this. Also, sometimes the page-down-ar...

Re: Cross-referencing a particular file - multiple labels?

That's great. Thank you. Once you've added a Keyword to one document, do you have to retype it in each new document where you want it to appear? Or can you somehow paste it in (or something like that).

Cross-referencing a particular file - multiple labels?

Is it possible to assign multiple labels to a single file? For instance, I have a few index carded scenes on my cork-board which are serving several functions. It's a scene that moves the love story forward (so I'd like to label it "Love story") but it also pushes the antagonist forward (s...

Re: corkboard -- color labels

When you refer to the ""Usage" of the label, how do I assign the "usage"? For instance, how could I assign the term "Chase story" to all of the Orange cards?

corkboard -- color labels

I have a question about using the Corkboard. What are some of the uses for the Color Labels on the index cards? Is it possible to call up only the Orange labeled cards, or only the Orange and Red labeled cards, for example? I am using the individual cards as a way of outlining a screenplay. It would...

Printing -- a simple question

I have a very simple question. I want to print out from my Research section and I'm not sure how to do it. There are about 6 files and I'd like to print them - or "Compile" them -- the way I'd print files from my Draft section. But I don't see how to do it. Can someone please advise me? Th...

getting out of "Screenplay" mode

Another stupid question on my part, surely -- but I am stuck in Screenplay mode. I have five documents in one binder. The first two documents are in ordinary text. For the third document I did some writing in "Screenplay" mode. Then, when I moved into the fourth document, I found that I wa...
