Even if someone else's tricks won't work for me, they could inspire a trick of my own. As humans, we are helplessly dependent on models. It is difficult to come up with a truly original idea out of the blue, but by rearranging models we can compare & contrast our way to a new idea. Really? Well...

I confess: I just now began to use Scrivener. I do have it for some time, even extended the trial period but did not - in fact could not make the final step towards Scrivener. To be honest, I did not writte anything worth reading for quite some time - that is until I finally (thanks, Keith) found ou...

I wouldn't like that. For one, I do use Scrivener to my get Story in motion and not for laying out a script. Thats what we have other tools for. And, in fact, I do like its reflowing mode while actually write sometinhg. I think a better solution might be to stuff that sort of things into the export ...

No sweat. I close my currently open project and go to File->New Project. I enter the project's name - in that case "Test Project". While I enter the name the Textfield gets constantly updated - the directory where I did store my last one is displayed: ~/Documents/Arbeit/Deutsches Gesundhei...

Drag'n'drop from Safari's Adress-FField does not work

When I try to grab the nice little icon on the left of an URL within Safari's Adress-Field, Scrivener cannot import and I receive the error: "Some files could not be imported because they were of an unsupported type"

Funny enough, drag'drog from Devonagents browser works like a charm...

Flaw in the New Project Assistant

When I choose a different directory in the New Project Assistant, the text below the Project Directory-Textfield still has the old directory written there. However, the .scriv-File is stored in the correct directory, so its probably not updated after chosing a new directory.

Cheers,

It is quite a bit painful. In the end, I had to recreate the proper formatting manually. But only after opening the thing in TextEdit and savong it using another enconding since somehow FD doesn't use the standard from my Mac.

As far as I have tried it it works like this: The mighty developer sends the application to the poor translator who imports it to ilocalize. The poor translator does what is neccesary to get the beast translated and exports only the translation. iLocalize exports a file which the poor translator sen...

And still, somehow, the matter of localization remains unresolved. I agree completely with Maria: localization is indeed both desirable and neccessary. Couldn't we create a pool of potential translators which in turn create a list of different Scrivener-parts (Application, Help, Tutorial), weighed i...

My first impressions

Yesterday I found out about Scrivener, tried it once and decided to move one of my older screenplays into Scrivener; a screenplay which I should somehow convert to a decent novel. Up to now, it looks pretty good; better than any software I tried along the way. After some hours I felt something was w...

How do you write? When do you write? Mac? PC? Manual? Onion skin? Twenty-four-pound paper? Do you drink? Avoid drink? Describe your quirks and mannerisms here. Huh. First of all, I try to avoid it; that is until I can't stand it any longer and whatever was on my mind has to get out before my head b...
