Re: favorite todo list programs?

@crimewriter At the moment I'm using the Pilot B-Tec C4 which is the finest tip I can find. Many Moleskine users swear by the Pilot G2. The Pilot Capless looks great. I want one too!

Re: favorite todo list programs?

I have moved back to paper after years of trying software. I have a notebook (yes a Moleskine) which gives me a tactile satisfaction I just can't get with software. I love to be able to CROSS THINGS OUT. I have a general to do list and pages for projects. I also use stickies and those little coloure...

Re: Using Scrivener with Dropbox

Oh, that sort of indent should be fine, right, as it is a global setting? It's not like the narrative paragraphs around the dialogue are lacking in a first-line indent. Dialogue just has an indent because it is yet another paragraph. I'm not sure why you lost those, then. I just ran a series of tes...

Re: Using Scrivener with Dropbox

Most English fiction will have a new line and an indent when a new person speaks, otherwise it would be difficult to read! Update: I have just discovered an app called Essay that edits rtf on the iPad and syncs with Dropbox, but not sure if it does folders. Will check it out. Further update: Hmmm. a...

Re: Using Scrivener with Dropbox

I see. Then this is a problem for dialogue-heavy text, as a new line of diakogue is simply a tabbed indent. It does make syncing a bit awkward if you are syncing to a pkain text editor. I take it that rtf files wouldn't be a problem but I'm assuming there is no such thing as an rtf editor for the iP...

Losing indents in iPad .txt sync

I hope this is the right place to post this... When syncing from Scrivener to Dropbox and opening the files in Plaintext (or indeed Writeroom) on my iPad, I notice that all my indents are lost. I assume this is because the files are being copied as plain text files and lose all formatting? The thing...

Re: Lion: First Impressions

There is a 'bug' in Mail which does not change the fonts in the new landscape view but does in classic view.

Re: Tinderbox

I'm waiting for the Mac version ;) What's the Enter key??? That would be Fn-Return for you :) Explained at last! I've recently taken the plunge with Tinderbox (using Scrivener offer) and been puzzling over this for ages! I've actually got up to speed quite quickly, with excellent help from the TB f...

Re: Moving back in document history

Yes, it makes absolute sense. And yes, I didn't read the FAQ — I'm heads down at the moment and interactions on forums are my only contact with the outside world! :D

Re: Moving back in document history

Yes I can see how that would be, as I am selecting a document inn the binder and then going back to the previous document by using document history. With the latter the binder does not respond, even if the editor does. I guess this doesn't quite fit with my workflow but the added 'reveal in binder' ...

Moving back in document history

I love the ability to move back and forth through the document history when editing, as it allows me to quickly check something in a previous document and then jump back to the one I was editing. However, when I'm editing I usually have the binder open so I can quickly move to a document I want to c...

Re: Dropbox security lapses

Having dug into this a bit more it seems the safest option for cloud computing is not to upload anything you're not happy sharing. Even when there are no security 'lapses' any cloud-based service can be potentially hacked. I'm told that the most secure (from hacking) are those that are encrypted and...

For improvement, I would suggest a space.

Re: Dropbox security lapses

but do you love and respect those who might get access to zillions of text files in the dropbox? what can anyone do with the knowledge of these texts? if it is a fiction book draft? the only thing I could think of is maybe help. I always hope someone would work a bit on mine and help me write/edit....
