Sharing scrivener file between mac and windows?

Firstly, I'm not sure whether to post this in Mac or Windows forum, but since my prime use of Scrivener is on an iMac... I have the opportunity for several days writerly exclusion. Since I don't have a Macbook, and Scrivener for iPad is some way off, I would have to take my very large iMac with me. ...

Re: Configurable keyboard for easy editing

We will be including some formatting in the iPad version, but you do have to remember that the iPad is not capable of all the same formatting as OS X (thus even Pages on iPad loses lots of formatting). There are a limited number of fonts available on the iPad, and the iPad has no rich text editing ...

Re: Configurable keyboard for easy editing

So, while the iPad version will definitely support formatting, to ask for the formatting to be exactly consistent is asking for the impossible, I'm afraid. I had a feeling you were going to say that... Still, as others have said in this thread, anything that simplifies the sync process would be man...

Re: iPad with a Keyboard

Soon you'll be able to turn your iPad into a Macbook Air and back again.

Re: Configurable keyboard for easy editing

[quote]This makes something very easy out of what is rather cumbersome in iPad's default interface, and again is something quite key to serious writers/quote] I agree with this, which is why I use a bluetooth keyboard. But obviously not everyone does - and sometimes I just can't be bothered to go th...

Basic principles...

I've only just become aware of this iPad forum and would like to add my penny's worth. I haven't read in detail through all the posts here so I may be repeating what others have requested, but maybe that in itself is a useful barometer. These are principles rather than 'what I want to see on the lef...

Re: Split screen is essential!

Perhaps the ability to swipe between two screens would provide the same functionality as split screen but make better use of the limited screen size. Just a thought.

Reports of Marx's death are greatly exaggerated.

Re: Do you feel safe storing your work in Dropbox?

I've pointed out before that something like SpiderOak is certainly more secure than Dropbox. No seamless connection with iPad apps though so you need to weigh convenience against security.

Re: iPad with a Keyboard

I also like the look of the combined keyboard/case by Zagg, except they are quite expensive and I don't think they do a QWERTY keyboard. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ZAGG-iPad-2-Folio-Case-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Carbon-Fibre-Case-/300604488243?pt=UK_iPad_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item45fd6c7a33#ht_5423wt...

Re: iPad with a Keyboard

I use the origami incase with an Apple bluetooth keyboard and it works quite well. You do need to use it on a table but it beats the virtual keyboard hands (fingers?) down. I use it with Notebooks to which I sync Scrivener, although I occassionaly get sync conflicts so I'm looking forward to an iPad...

The utility that I have found most useful with dual monitors is SwtichResX (no affiliation) http://www.madrau.com/indexSRX4.html which allows you to configure your setup on an application by application basis.

Re: Showing off: Scrivener with dual monitors.

Yes I'll try:

1. The menu has to be in the screen you want the working end of Scrivener to be, the iMac in my case.
2. Preferences-> Compose should be set as followed

3. Select the document you want to edit and click Compose. Hey presto. That works for me, anyway.

Showing off: Scrivener with dual monitors.

I simply wanted to share this because it's brilliant, and only possible in Scrivener as far as I know. I found this Dell monitor - which works in portrait - second-hand on ebay, and put it to good use. It provides the ideal writing setup as far as I'm concerned. Binder/corkboard on the iMac, editor ...
