Zip the project using File|Save as Backup, and upload the zip file.

I've seen this and I think, at least in my case, that it's related to HotService, if you're using that. Seems harmless.

Well, my experience was that trying to work directly off the iDisk from Scrivener made the program hang for ten seconds at a time (at least) every time it tried to autosave. Not Scrivener's fault, but not tolerable, either.

I tried using .Mac and it was so slow it made me want to cry, but it did work. Are you using iDisk with automatic local syncing?

A couple of ideas are Jumsoft's Process, or an individual (free) Basecamp account.

This is something I was wanting, also. Amber, when you say you switched them at the system level, you mean you did it in Keyboard prefs for All Applications? If I just swapped them for Scrivener, that wouldn't do anything weird to any other apps, right?

iBook, coffee shop. Mornings are good. After lunch is bad. Writing at home involves childcare and snacking issues. For short stuff, I use 37Signals' Writeboard; for long stuff, until recently it was Ulysses. But I've just registered, well, you know.

I was going to post this exact same request. I use Transcriva for my transcripts, but I find it buggy and slow, at least on my iBook. (I've been in contact with Bartas and they're very helpful but can't reproduce my crashing bug, so I don't really blame them.) I'd love to just use Scrivener for this...

One thing I like about Scrivener

vs Ulysses, that is (and I say this as a longtime user of Ulysses who hasn't yet decided whether to switch). Ulysses has large chunks of UI taking up the left and right sides of the window. Scrivener doesn't. It's like the difference between iTunes 4 and iTunes 5. Why do I care? My favorite font for...

So you're saying it's in the help file *and* the FAQ? It seems like there should be a handy four-letter acronym for this situation. :)

Folders vs nested documents

This isn't something I *need* to know, but I'm curious: what's the difference between making a folder and nesting a document under another document (by dragging)? I'm wondering why both options exist.

Thanks,
Matthew
