Re: Disappearing insertion point (Mojave)

It happens further up in the text as well. I made a screen recording: https://denkdieper.nl/insertionpoint.mov.

Re: Disappearing insertion point (Mojave)

On my installation, the insertion point disappears only in the Composition mode, and only after a carriage return. As soon as I start typing the new paragraph, it reappears. I am using (and greatly benefiting from) a non-blinking, somewhat fatter (3 pt) insertion point (in Composition mode only). Us...

AmberV wrote:(...) The dialogue box is thus an opportunity to glance at the Dropbox status indicator in the menu bar to ensure it is safe to proceed.

Are we both talking about Scrivener on iOS?

Can the ‘Close Project and Sync’ routine be automated?

Nearly every day, often more than once, I’ll open the iOS app to continue working where I left off on my Mac. When sync starts, a dialog appears asking me if I want to ‘Close Project and Sync’, with options ‘now’ and ‘later’. Options are good, obviously, but I can’t imagine anyone choosing ‘later’ w...

Re: Scrivener for students?

I am simply adding citations and references by hand. I'd prefer a built-in bibliography tool, I guess, but copying formatted bibliographic information from a website like citethisforme.com is no great effort, and when adding citations, if I don't know the author/year combo of a publication I am refe...

Thanks a lot for your renewed effort to explain this to me. Scrivener support is phenomenal.

Re: Links to other documents on index cards

Scrivener already has a general purpose inter-document linking system—one that does not require you to be looking at a corkboard to use it: the Bookmarks inspector tab. [...] Thank you for pointing that out, but I didn't explain myself very well. I wanted to be looking at the corkboard, and to be a...

Re: Text selection: sentences?

That makes sense, and I will get by just fine with a keyboard shortcut. Thanks.

Links to other documents on index cards

I found myself trying to put links to other parts of the project on my index cards. There is something to be said for it, I think: when describing what a document should be about, one sometimes also has to remember what it is not about or what it leads up to or follows up on (content that is develop...

Text selection: sentences?

There is a small mistake in the manual, page 375: triple click selects a paragraph, not a word. That said, I would prefer it to select a sentence instead, with four clicks selecting a paragraph. I've seen this in another application, I forget which. It's very nice to be able to select a faulty sente...

Re: Making LANGUAGE selection a project property rather than an application property

It would be very convenient if we could assign a language attribute to selected text, causing it to be spellchecked and hyphenated correctly. Language could also be a style attribute. Usage example:I have a lot of German, Italian and French quotations in my English language thesis, and the only solu...
