Re: One more quick view of where we are without font anti-aliasing at present...

I did download your image. 1600 x 900 is still below average for several years. 1920x1080 would be standard and I would keep that below 20 inches for text work. I have to say I keep hearing about QT. I have to wonder if that was a mistake from the start. because it keeps coming up as a reason things...

Patient:: It hurts when I slap my face. Doctor: Don't slap your face Patient: but I will still know it hurts. The screen cap you provided is BELOW a standard HD screen. Lowres screen + Very thin font + Terrible color choice = crappy looking text. Nott enough pixels to alias that though I can see it ...

Re: 1.9 vs Beta 2.22 - Which is correct?

Word as a long history that has to lead it to have old bad habits on fonts. I know I was the Customer Support Font Guru back in the 1990s and was flown to various Microsoft support sites to train font management. Word tends to take a typeface and synthesize at least Bold Underline, italic. Even if t...

Re: Compatibility of Scrivener on Win10 with MS OneDrive?

Just to add to the data. I have started writing under MacOS. Mojave 14.5 I still write on Windows 10 1903 also. Using Windows Vers 3 Beta 20. Using Mac version 3.1.3 I am using OneDrive For Business to Sync between them. I am finding currently that it's less than 2 minutes in most cases before the l...

Re: Latest BETAs = PURE GARBAGE NOT!

I have a long history in software. So I have a high tolrance for beta stuff. I technical write demos for unreleased software features. So my view that Scrivner 3 Beta is NOT GARBAGE might be colored. EXCEPT today: We moved my wife to the beta. No way would I move her and her work to GARBAGE,. She af...

Re: Touch screen scrolling in Scrivener 3?

Nice try, Wordjoy, but I'm a happy Surface Pro user. Not all programs are a good fit for touch UI. And yet, you rationalize . It's a reasonable request. They are asking for something that I guess is in the current release version of Windows Scrivner. I posted on this myself a few weeks back. Its no...

Re: Touch screen scrolling in Scrivener 3?

Not all programs are a good fit for a touch interface. Rationalization - Noun The action of attempting to explain or justify behavior or an attitude with logical reasons, even if these are not appropriate. Often seen with Mac users trying to devalue touch as Apple has shown no interest it for OSX. ...

Re: Compatibility of Scrivener on Win10 with MS OneDrive?

A) No cloud sync system even Dropbox is perfect. All of them will have problems if you do things like open files on two systems at the same time. They all need you to do things like make sure sync is complete before moving the other machine.. B) I have been using OneDrive for Business for my Scrivne...

Re: Compatibility of Scrivener on Win10 with MS OneDrive?

I have been reading this and wanted to add to it. This is based on the OneDrive on Windows 10 Release 1809 or later. I am running 1903. 1) Discussing Word has no bearing on Scrivner. MS Office apps make direct calls to OneDrive and SharePoiint to save. They save parts of files to enable multi-user c...

Re: Scriv3 for Win - Yes another inquiry regarding release date.

(also at this late date, why is the manual for 3.0 still not included in the Betas? Is that behind schedule as well?) Much thanks to the developers. But for reasons already detailed at great length in many threads, an official release of 3.0 is sorely needed after waiting all this time. A) Because ...
