Re: [Beta 26] Styles for footnotes?

I can't comment on why it doesn't work for you … I'm running Beta 27 on my Mac under the latest version of Crossover—a GUI implementation of WINE—in a Windows 7 "bottle". Well, I tried—with no success—on Beta 27 at 'natural' Win 10. )) Actually, I agree it would be good to be able to have...

Re: [Beta 26] Styles for footnotes?

Just took the time to install Beta 27 under Crossover and link a mouse. It all works for me: 1) open in Scrivenings mode; 2) select first inspector footnote/comment; 3) Ctrl-A selects all inspector footnotes/comments; 4) Right-click with mouse opens drop-down menu giving "Convert to default te...

Re: [Beta 26] Styles for footnotes?

...I have over 400 footnotes in my first few chapters, so doing them one at a time isn’t really an option. ... I would still to see the styles in Scrivener improved a bit, but obviously that needs to be a suggestion for a later release (and, of course, may not be something the devs — and other uses...

Re: [Beta 26] Styles for footnotes?

@jje, surely iunder Windows, can you not select the first footnote with a single click, click Ctrl-A to select them all at one go, and then Right-click on the mouse to get the dropdown menu giving you "Convert to default text-style", or whatever the wording is? That's how it works on a Ma...

Re: [Beta 27] Changing paragraph style also change font of character styled text in paragraph. Not a new bug.

It works perfectly all right with my 'emphasize' style. I would recommend to play with other fonts first—it's highly probable that seemingly changed one shows a font substitution (i.e. a missing one). Very strange bug, indeed. Looking into it for more details on how I get it. jljovano, yet another ...

Re: [Beta 26] Styles for footnotes?

I think it's absolutely a matter for the Wish List. It's not there in the Mac version, and I'm sure if it had been easy KB would have implemented it. Given that, I sincerely doubt it's going to be there in Windows 3 when it is finally released; Tiho_D and LAP seem to still have a lot on their hands...

Re: [Beta 26] Styles for footnotes?

It's very possible that I simply don't understand the wealth of options that are now available under "Compile" and that somewhere in there is the tool I need. Unfortunately the Tutorial project has only very sketchy information about the compile options, and we still don't have a draft ma...

Re: Navigation in binder

Can confirm that when using arrows I am unable to move up or down more than a couple of steps in any direction without any obvious connection with the Binder Header's level. It looks like Scrivener hangs up after second or third arrow move. I prefer to move around Binder with mouse, that is probably...

Re: Cursor changes position when scrolling in Scrivenings mode

@tiho_d, thanks a lot—what is just priceless is to learn (once again) that the app you work with and rely upon is being made by clever, responsible people.

@Kinsey, thank you for the talk.

@Virescent —special thanks for so clear and universally convincing arguments.

Re: Cursor changes position when scrolling in Scrivenings mode

Also, Kinsey states that on Mac, scrolling does not move the cursor between the documents, and this contradicts what tiho_d said (that the default Mac behaviour is to move the cursor). I do not have any MacOS around to test unfortunately, but, yes, that remark seems to be really intriguing. I am wo...

Re: Cursor changes position when scrolling in Scrivenings mode

...I'm confused now -- if the developers stated this is a normal behaviour, what did that line from Beta 25 release notes refer to? That description matches nicely with the jumping cursor (auto-switching to a new document moves the cursor). However, the auto-switching still happens when you scroll,...

Re: Cursor changes position when scrolling in Scrivenings mode

I am afraid the point of this discussion is not a bug (which is to be eliminated in the relise). Which release do you mean? There was a line in the Beta 25 release notes which seemed to refer to the bug we are discussing: Scrolling in Scrivenings mode will not auto-switch to the new document [3988]...
