Re: What does iOS 13 mean for Scrivener iOS and iCloud Sync?

I think sidderke's initial post was interesting and appropriate and engaging. I don't think the subforum it is posted in makes any difference to most users, though if the mods feel it is better moved elsewhere, so be it. Going on about the subforum is, for me, an unnecessary, unwelcome, and petty ir...

Re: When will Scrivener support iCloud (or the way around)?

When iPadOS allows me to recreate that environment, without sacrificing app functionality, then I'll happily jump on board. Hello, Kinsey. You have given voice to many thoughts that have swelled and swirled in my own mind. I agree that Apple has made a huge step in terms of the Mac this year, with ...

Re: When will Scrivener support iCloud (or the way around)?

Thanks, devinganger and lunk, for sharing your thoughts. I can see your arguments entirely, and I have great empathy with the points that you have made. I agree that Scrivener is a professional-grade app that uses features that are currently exclusive to macOS. On the other hand, I think that most S...

Re: When will Scrivener support iCloud (or the way around)?

Whether or not those apps need it, if history is anything to go by. Hi. I agree. I get the feeling that some people don’t really see the transformation that is happening. We’ve seen Apple disassemble iTunes, eviscerate and rebuild Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Photos, etc, and bring apps like Stocks and...

Re: When will Scrivener support iCloud (or the way around)?

Interesting insight, julian. I think that the very name of Project Catalyst makes it clear that Apple wants to bring about change and that we are heading into a future where developers (in the main) create one app to use across all platforms: preferable for users to have a single interface; cost-eff...

Hi.

The first-letter span style is exclusive to ebook (ePub and Kindle) compiles only. Your screenshot shows a PDF compile.

Re: iOS Scrivener on Catalina?

I'd prefer not to lose any of Mac Scrivener's capabilities, but I'd go with whatever course Keith might choose to set, believing he would act with the best intentions for the future.

Re: iOS Scrivener on Catalina?

Hi, r[iot]dale. [non-confrontational smile]

I expect I would be in the embrace-and-accept camp, rather than reaching for the Molotovs and pitchforks. The future might well belong to iPadOS and ARM-powered Macs. Going to get interesting.

Admire the passion.

iOS Scrivener on Catalina?

Appreciate the newness (early days – all unknown – etc – etc) of the recent Catalina announcement, but just wondering aloud if – with Project Catalyst bringing iPad apps to the Mac – we will see Scrivener for iPad coming to Catalina alongside the current Mac version, or if the future is to have just...

Re: Scrivener not working on macOS 10.15 Catalina beta.

I am not a developer, so I don’t have Catalina, and I am therefore unable to test the following suggestion before posting. I wonder, with Catalina being installed on its own system volume, whether Scrivener might work if it was uninstalled and then reinstalled so that the set-up is pointing to the c...

Re: Open in Preview by default?

Embarrassingly dense on my part. I misunderstood your first post, assuming that CMD P worked as a default for “Open in Preview”. I entirely missed the fact that I needed to assign the shortcut. Thanks for clarifying. Apologies for wasting your time. I should read things more carefully and not make a...

Re: Open in Preview by default?

Hi, gr. Even with my custom shortcut deleted, I can’t get CMD P to invoke Preview. I am calling up the compile interface, selecting compile for print, and then pressing CMD P when the print dialogue is open, but nothing happens. Am I missing a step or setting? I have tried CMD P from the editor, but...
