Group and Renumber Endnotes by Section at End of Book

I'm working on finalizing my book for print (CreateSpace) and saving in .docx format so I can add drop caps and adjust the pages slightly (so subheads don't appear at the bottom of a page) before finalizing to .pdf and I'm running into difficulties. Apparently, when compiling to .docx you can't spec...

Re: Can't Get Left-Justfy to Stick When Compiling to Word .docx Format

The above output is what I was getting when using a left-aligned style. I decided to create a new style and apply it and that seemed to correct the problem. Not sure what was wrong with the previous style.

Scrivener 3 Locking Up on Updating Styles

I'm having problems with Scrivener locking up when updating some styles, specifically h1 headers and indented paragraph styles. Is this a known bug in the latest version of Scrivener? I have to Force Quit the application and then go through it to see where the style updates ended. UPDATE: Selecting ...

Can't Get Left-Justfy to Stick When Compiling to Word .docx Format

I'm trying to get align-left text to stick in compiling to Word .docx format, but not getting anywhere. In my foreword I want to have the writer's name signature and details to be left justified, but compile keeps indenting the first line. What I want is... Love May Be Closer Than You Think!

Re: Roman Numerals and Page Numbering

Not to be argumentative, but if Scrivener can set numbering to start on page 2, why can't it offer the option of setting a different start page determined by the user? Instead, we're forced to use another program to do it. The programming for that shouldn't be difficult to manage. Also, if you can s...

Re: Roman Numerals and Page Numbering

Has anyone figured out how to set the starting pages for Roman numerals and page 1 of chapter 1? I'm still not having success. And, why does Scrivener 3 only allow us to set the main header and footer to start after front matter of on page 2? Why not let us choose the page we want it to start on? Wh...

Has Anyone Verified Whether Scrivener 3 Output will Import into InDesign?

I've been trying for hours to import my Scrivener book output into InDesign and simply can't get it to work. Has anyone had success importing their .docx files into InDesign?

Re: Drop Caps in Scrivener for Print

I just want to add drop caps to my existing print book document, nothing more, and output the final document as a .PDF that's ready for CreateSpace. I have InDesign, but I've spent hours today trying to import (place) my .docx file into it and it's just not working nor can I find any help online.

Re: How can i export, not compile, a file without a folder being created?

If you're exporting to an ebook format, make sure you don't have the "Save source files in a folder with exported Kindle file" checked. It's just above the "Reset KindleGrn location" button. See the image below.

Re: Drop Caps in Scrivener for Print

Do you have any suggestions on how to accomplish that apart from buying MS Word? Many Scrivener users are self-published, like myself, and we need a way to easily add drop caps in our print books. I have Pages, but it can be funky when editing and saving .docx files.

Drop Caps in Scrivener for Print

Has anyone come up with a way to create drop caps in Scrivener for output to print? I know that there has been discussion on it before, but I haven't seen anything regarding drop caps in Scrivener 3. I can add them in the ebook easily with css, but that's not offered in the print outputs.

Re: <$chapter> Not Supported in Page Headers?

Thanks. The placeholder <$pageGroupTitle> works great. I couldn't find it in the documentation, but placing pageGroupTitle in uppercase makes the chapter name appear in uppercase. I was wanting that, as well.

Re: Image Placeholder Format for Sizing Differently to Print/Digital

Thanks, Bridey. That's what I was looking for, <$img:ImgName;w=400;ebook=50%>. I also found it this morning in the List of All Placeholders. I was sure I looked in there yesterday, but didn't see it for some reason. Thanks, as well, nontroppo. Release notes should be easier to find and they should b...

<$chapter> Not Supported in Page Headers?

From what I can tell, the <$chapter> placeholder is not supported in compile page headers. The placeholder list says... "Not all placeholders are supported in headers and footers. In addition to the special header and footer placeholders specified below (which can only be used in headers and fo...
