Re: Return to Index Card View -- After Editing Text

Are you saying you want to quit an index card after editing it? Doesn't esc work? Oh, sorry, I'd misunderstood. You want to get back to the corkboard view after editing the text that the index card pertains to? (as if you didn't explain it carefully enough!). I have to say the back button (top left ...

Re: How could I add a shortcut to show the favorites?

Yes, well, well, a shortcut would be enough / great. I agree! But unfortunately Scrivener does not provide a keyboard shortcut. In case you haven't discovered it yet, you can check out the shortcuts by clicking Tools-options and choosing keyboard. This will give you a customisable list of keyboard ...

Re: Show path of document in editor?

Yes, that is all available, but clicking "Path" does not show a path but the title of the document(s). Does it list other files below the file you've selected? These are the files which contain that document eg 'John Smith' with 'Characters' below it indicates a file about John Smith cont...

Re: How could I add a shortcut to show the favorites?

I don't think you can add favourites to the toolbars, but you can access your favourites fairly quickly by clicking on the icon next to the document's title in the header, and choosing Go to. Your favourites will be displayed at the top.

Re: Show path of document in editor?

I thought there was a way to automatically display the path in the header, but I can't find it so I must have been wrong! You can access the path fairly quickly by clicking on the icon next to the document's title in the header and choosing Path. Alternatively, click Reveal in Binder to reveal the d...

Re: How to re-show Binder after keyword search ?

Click the small x in the bottom right-hand corner of the binder. This will take you back to normal binder view. You can also click the x on the right-hand side of the search tool in the toolbar.

Hmm, I didn't realise you can drag and drop keywords onto binder items. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Odd it doesn't work for search items. Seems like a oversight ...

Re: How could Scrivener keep the size of the “Keywords” window after closing / opening?

Yes, I know. When I was referring to the 'keywords window' I meant the window you show in your screen shot. When I referred to the 'keywords pane' I meant the pane displayed in the Inspector which lists the keywords attributed to a certain file. I like to keep both open so I can drag and drop keywor...

Problem with saved layouts

The layout function is not working. When I choose a saved layout, Scrivener applies everything correctly (Binder/Inspector/header/footer/split/no split etc) except which display mode to use (IE scrivenings, corkboard, outliner). It will use the mode that was in use before the layout was activated. T...

No, as far as I'm aware, that's it. But you can change the width of the paper which might allow you more fine-grained control.

Re: How could one access the icons manager?

As far as I know, there is no icons manager; the screen in your screenshot is what you get! I don't think you can delete or move icons; if you can, I don't know how - sorry! How did you get so many icons? Did you download them yourself? Maybe that's the cause of the big white space? Can you teach me...

Re: Why is there any text displayed in the folder although available?

You haven't written any text in the folder. If you had, the icon, which is visible in your screen shot, would display a small piece of paper in the bottom right corner. If you're wanting to view the text files you have placed in your folder, you need to click on the scrivenings button. Of the three ...

Re: How could Scrivener keep the size of the “Keywords” window after closing / opening?

It can't! But you can keep the keywords window open as you're working. if I'm doing a batch of keyword adding, I tend to tuck the keyword window at the bottom of the Inspector, then minimise the General Meta-Data and Synopsis panes. This makes the keywords pane pretty large, plenty of room for addin...
