Re: Scrivener behaves very sluggish / slow

I posted in another thread about this. I had a file that was being slow and annoying. It was using nearly a gigabyte of memory. I tried lots of stuff. I left the file open for hours when i was gone and the file had resolved the problem. Excel used to do stuff like this when a file was open and used ...

Re: A few suggestions

"I found that the right click menu in the text editor to be rather cluttered by default, perhaps consider 2 different context menu's one for simply having the cursor in the text and the other for when text is highlighted. Also it would be good if the context menu could be customised like the ma...

Re: Don't Change Menu Options Based on State

As i recall, the changing menu was an apple thing. I just hate it.

And now gmail, and others, do the same. Stupid interface stuff.

These are examples of clever-stupidity::: "Look what I can do."

selecting screen split - binder does not update - why?

Clicking a split does not update the binder selection.

What is the reasoning for this not happening?

Re: Scrivener balky on Windows 10 SP3...why?

I left the project open that was annoying me. When i returned many hours later it was using only 120MB, instead of 1.3G. Today, I have had the project open for about 4 hours it is now at 226MB. Closing it, the new project dialog is displayed and the mem use is at 67. I close that dialog, wait a minu...

Re: Scrivener balky on Windows 10 SP3...why?

This seems to depend upon the project. Project i have been working this week uses 1.2 Gigabytes of memory. On disk the project is 2 megabytes and 325. It is a bit balky with respect to change the display when changing files/folders. Total CPU use is around 10%, memory is at 44%. I close that project...

Re: Append to new doc and delete highlighted text

I am moving long doc files into scrivener projects. And I use notepad files for lots of quick notes.. I want to create a new file from the selected text, and then auto delete the selected text. What is the reasoning to create a new file/append from the selected text but to not delete the text? Knowi...

Re: File Close Project

I did not change any setting.

The default should be to close the project not the program. That is what File Exit is for.

And FILE CLOSE in Word does exactly as expected: the file closes and Word stays ready.

Copy File from one folder to another

Example: Current project with 30 chapters. For each chapter, I want the same folder and file structure. (I was already adapting a word doc to a scrivener project when I decided to add the file structure.) C1 a_See this first b_And then this c_another thing C2 a_See this first b_And then this c_anoth...

Append to new doc and delete highlighted text

I am currently moving projects into Scrivener. I would like to be able to highlight a section of text and choose: Move to New Doc The result would be a new file added just below the current one, and the highlighted text deleted. Currently, Append New results in the new doc added outside the current ...

Re: BEFORE POSTING...Searching the forum

Re: Searching the forum In the beginning (decades ago), search functions had reasonable rules. One of which was placing quote marks around a phrase to restrict the search to the phrase. If there were no results, nothing would be displayed. I was happy with no results where there were none. Not so th...
