I am amazed. It works just as you say except that since the Compile => Separators input boxes only show the last line, the input box appears empty. I was also amazed that on macOS the keyboard shortcut for soft-return or line-break is CTL+Return.

I have one project where my binder titles show up in the text area of the editor pane and another where they don't.
I have looked everywhere for the setting and can seem to find it. Needless to say, the search verbs of the forum or of the manual's PDF file weren't much help.

You were right, I had Compile => Transformations => Remove Text Color is checked. When I unchecked it the color did pass thru.

Both suggestions act the same as a plain return on my Mac inside of Scrivener.
There should be a handful of other special typography characters, such as soft-hyphen, non-breaking space etc.
I have Google the heck out of this but haven't found an answer yet.

In MS Word the key-combo of Shift+Return called soft return will give you a new line but not a new paragraph.
Occasionally this is useful. I have searched the Docs and can't find any mention of this in Scrivener.

You are exactly right. Between some of the characters is one that is invisible and has not width. I carefully arrowed my way thru the text deleting these invisible characters. There was no visible change, but I could then move thru the text using arrows.
