Re: Potential problems with Dropbox?

What will happen to our projects if Dropbox is not allowed to sync completely and then we go to our iOS version and perform a sync? There are numerous safety nets in place, but the simple fact of the matter is that if you take two different projects and smash them together and try to load the resul...

Re: Overwhelming praise

I haven't done much so far with iScrivener except toy with the tutorial and transfer some test files through iTunes. I'm blown away by your creation and you have my admiration. You persevered and overcame. Whether it's the mitigation of physical limitation that the usage of an iPad can bring , or an...

Re: Security and encryption

Direct Mac<->iPad transfer is supported now, via iTunes. Do you mean that I can save my work done on iPad directly in my MacBook, via itunes, without any Cloud transfert? Thas would be exactly what I needed, and safest! See sec. 12.1.2, pdf page 147 here : http://www.literatureandlatte.com/document...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

am of the 20th here in Aus and my money is still burning a hole.... Have another look this afternoon. It's the first time I've seen all the listings for Scrivo. How many different versions can they stuff into the app store? Regardless of whether the apps are any good, I have to say it looks like a ...

Re: Scrivener 2.8 still using insecure Sparkle

Thanks for independently confirming that. And yes, I should have mentioned that since the fix is in 2.8, running the updator from 2.7 will still be insecure. Anyone concerned with using the downloader should download the DMG directly from the main product page and drag that into Applications (or wh...

Re: Scrivener 2.8 still using insecure Sparkle

@derick, Thanks for the heads-up on this. A way you can check if an App is calling for http or https for updates is by using the following code (by SpudMuppet) that's posted here : http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/02/huge-number-of-mac-apps-vulnerable-to-hijacking-and-a-fix-is-elusive/?comments=...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

Hi, I have an ipad mini 3, Windows laptop (with Scrivener for Windows) and use dropbox often . I would love to have a Macbook but need to save $$ for that - soon I hope. Can the IOS version sync with Windows as it does with the Mac version? I searched for this but couldn't find anything referencing...

Re: I love Scrivener - but I'm too scared to use it

Having a sprawling complex story and reference materials all in one session is brilliant. Having random chapters vanish, in whole or part, is not. If I don't notice quickly enough, backup is no help (even putting aside the time and effort involved in opening multiple versions of a file and scanning...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

@ChrisRosser... Thanks for the update. Ode to Joy, indeed. I've been on edge about making a decision for a mobile work-space.

Congrats, Keith and company. : -)

Re: New MAC

The circumstance of having accidentally purchased two Windows licenses, if it were me, would compel me to contact L&L (http://www.literatureandlatte.com/contact.php), explain the circumstance and politely ask them if they'd consider transferring one of them to Mac (fully understanding they're no...

Re: Alternatives to Scrivener for iPad

I generally don’t use Apple devices, but just out of curiosity: Why are there a gazillion posts on Scrivener for iOS (apparently starting only a short time after invention of the wheel and also probably going on to an indeterminate future  ), when there is an app which already does it? Given ...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

Apologies if this has been covered. I didn't read each of the 60 pages but did try using the search function. Will the iOS version be able to coordinate a project locally with a Mac either wirelessly or by manual means, e.g., USB? Edit : found this only a couple of pages back with a reference to ema...

Re: RSS Feed

This is definitely not the right place for this thread, but I can't seem to find an appropriate one. My RSS Feed for the whole forum stopped working a couple of days ago. I now got to the forum and noticed a whole new look. It's nice. But I can't find anywhere how to re-subscribe to the RSS Feed. A...
