Re: Install for Release Candidate 6 hangs

Krastev, this is a discussion board. People should feel welcome to come here and discuss whatever issues they are having, as others might have experienced the same and have advice for them. If the topic is of no interest to you, like virtualisation, then go spend your time productively in threads t...

Re: Online Version (?)

It's well worth checking out Dabble - https://www.dabblewriter.com/ There's a monthly cost, which I normally hate, but it's cheaper at the moment and it's very good - I'm happily writing and plotting with it right now, and it's very smooth. They cheekily claim it's "Like Scrivener. Minus the L...

Re: Install for Release Candidate 6 hangs

The problem may caused by the VM and not Scrivener. I have been using the betas and RC's on Wine using Linux. With the numerous betas and RC's, I have only had the install fail twice. The first time I left it until the next Beta. The second time is now. I can't update and I can't re-install. It is ...

Re: Install for Release Candidate 6 hangs

If you have a Mac why are you trying the windows version? It makes no sense to me. Boot Camp? VMware Desktop or some other virtualization? Preferred browser setup on Mac and downloaded files saved to shared storage with networked Windows machine? As long as they aren't trying to install the Windows...

Re: Root Folder Types and Icons

Is there any way around this apparent limitation on creating additional Draft folders or changing their icons to match something else? I'm sure there's some reasoning behind this, but it's a bit frustrating right now. It's not a limitation. It's by design. There are three special folders in Scriven...

Re: [NB] counting project target on duplicate

In both cases, any new text you type will be counted. This is not true, and this is why I reported it as a bug. Newly typed text in a duplicated file is not counted in session count, only in statistics. It is true. Just tried it, and it works fine for me. Are you sure you have the Project Target se...

Re: Install for Release Candidate 6 hangs

With the system itself in such a state that it cannot even draw Task Manager properly, I'd reckon a reboot would be in order. Reboots don't help, and now -- trying to download the installer again -- the download hangs (on the Mac). If you have a Mac why are you trying the windows version? It makes ...

In the first post, the OP had written Scribd, not Scrivener. That was corrected in the second post where they quoted themselves.

Re: Issues opening file on new computer

I am trying to transfer my project to a new computer, which it appears also has a updated version of Scribd. I get a popup asking if I'd like to update the file, and it goes through the whole process, and even creates a backup, but a newer version of the file is not created. Every version, both the...

I whish I could help you more but since I can't reproduce this I can't think of anything else.

One more thing: are you on the latest version of Scrivener? It's 1.9.16?

You can add as many custom metadata fields as you want. Same as lebel.
You can also change the Label into a Custom Title to your heart's desire.

Re: Add "Select sentence" to the CLICK / DOUBLE-TRIPLE CLICK sequence

The idea is that if you prefer to use any of these menu commands, you can add a keyboard shortcut . I use ⇧⌘7 , bound to the variant that includes the space following a sentence. As far as I can tell OP is on Windows, so, this doesn't apply. Even the v3 on Windows doesn't allow us to assign shortcu...

Re: Auto-opening at the wrong place

One more thing: In Scrivener 1.9, the insertion point is usually at the bottom of the screen, not the top as one would expect.
