Re: Index cards

No, I don’t think that will work. You cannot even make a soft line break (Shift + Enter). But then again, a title is a title. I personally never had a use case for a multi-line title on an index card on in the binder.

Re: Making First Para of Each Chapter Non-Indented

Yes, very important point! And although Scrivener is primarily a First Draft tool, there are already so many basic layout options included that it seems odd that proper indentation is not one of them. Actually the same indentation rule also applies for typical scene breaks ("small" ones wi...

Re: New Text Document Opens Up Character Template

Although this is definitely some weird behavior, wouldn’t an easier workaround be to simply start a new document from a template which fits your purpose and which therefore corresponds to what you would expect a document to look like if things worked properly? if you put this document template at th...

Re: tab spacing inconsistent

I think general Tab settings (not the ones set within documents or document templates) are not project-specific but per Scrivener installation instead. You can change them in Options/Editor, export them (Button "Manage") and import them on your second computer to make sure you get a consis...

Re: Accented characters don't work on Wine (Linux)

Only because of your post I realised that I had the same problem. I write in German, so there are only rare occasions where I have to use accents. This link helped me: http://askubuntu.com/questions/360696/keyboard-not-working-100-after-ubuntu-13-10-upgrade In my case I set Keyboard Input Method to ...

Re: Great American Novel TEMPLATE for Scrivener

MSO, actually my first comment was based on the icon pack you provided only. Having looked into the template now I would not want to leave your exceptional work with only a flippant comment. I always thought I was a bit over the top with spending hours on creating templates, icons, binder structures...

Looks like you too can spend countless hours on optimizing your writing tools. Oh seductive procrastination.

Re: Adding links to web pages

Maybe you have inadvertently changed your standard browser to IE? Anyway, if you are happy not to have the web pages for offline view, just create one document per link and insert the link into this document’s text body or use the Document Reference. Both options are shown in this screenshot: img-01...

Re: Adding links to web pages

Probably you did it with Add > Web Page and then selected Import As : Webpage Complete (MHT) . This imports the entire page into Scrivener, e.g. for offline reading (with Firefox you will need an add-on to read this MIME HTML archive format . However the actual link to the online page is provided to...

Re: Images answer required ASAP

You can’t put images as files in the Draft section (how should they be compiled?) but you can insert them in all documents inside your Draft section. Simply right click and select insert picture or drag them directly from your research material folder.

Re: Template for Inspector Synopsis or Document Notes windows?

Sure, just design a document exactly as you would expect it, then save it as a template. Whenever you start a new scene document select Add -> New From Template. Like this I created whole sets of templates for the Snowflake method, Truby’s checklists for scenes (see screenshot), etc.

Re: Sorting keywords in Inspector

Thanks for considering this. The compound keyword idea with the hierarchy paths in Object Dot-Notation would be a very good solution, but again, without sorting, like paths (siblings and parent/child keywords) would be scattered around the document keyword section. When it is the time for enhancing ...

Re: Sorting keywords in Inspector (was: binder)

Yes, sorry, my fault. I meant Inspector , not Binder (will change post title accordingly). img-012.png It would be even better of course if not only one could sort the keywords in he inspector but also be able to optionally see the hierarchy as defined in he Project Keywords window. I know the hiera...
