Beta for the brave?

I enjoy using the Beta version so much that I always feel depressed when I have to revert back to the old Scrivener 1.9.7  Actually I am really tempted to use the Beta for some real work right now. Of course I know about all the risks associated with this, but if these two assumptions were met...

[LH2814] RegEx search for keywords

I do love the possibility to use RegEx searches! But how is RegEx search for Keywords supposed to work? E.g. I use keywords like p:PlotPoint1, p:PlotPoint2, p:PinchPoint1, p:PinchPoint2 . If I want to find all scenes to which any of these keywords have been assigned, then p:.*Point[\d] should work, ...

Re: Bug: Changes in binder don't change editor when in split view (either vertically horizontally).

Works for me. Did you make sure that under Navigate > Binder Selection Affects any option other than None is selected, like so:

[LH2159] Additional space in compiled/exported inline annotations / comments

Last year I reported a small compile problem, which however really bugs me. It is about Scrivener prepending inline annotations and comments with an extra space during compile and export (see original post: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=34213 ). I noticed that in t...

Re: Tabs in Project Notes Manager

In the Windows version you simply have to click the "+" button in the Project Notes window to create a new note and by this automatically a new tab. I would think that this is quite similar to the Mac version, isn’t it?

Re: <$n:figure> not working

If it’s not in the manual (I could only find references for $n, not $n:type:name) then again it’s probably a Mac only feature.

Re: Colorize elements in Binder?

Colorize Binder: Set up Labels in Meta Data Settings and assign colors. Then assign those labels to Binder elements as you see fit. Select " View/Use Label color in " and select Icons and/or Binder (use F5 / F6 alternatively). This will colorize Binder elements (see manual, 9.1.1 Setting ...

Re: Smart quotes replace apostrophes

I’m on Linux (via Wine / PlayOnLinux) where it is very easy ( AltGr + # does it, and AltGr + Shift + N as well). If there are no similar key combinations in Windows then substituting the typewriter apostrophe (which should anyway be replaced by their correct counterpart in any writing apart from pro...

Re: Smart quotes replace apostrophes

Actually the whole problem will not occur if you use the typographically correct character for the apostrophe in German, which is Unicode: U+2019 (and in English too, afaik). It looks like a little number 9. The straight or better: typewriter apostrophe (Unicode: U+0027) is not correct. See this Wik...

Did you notice this is a forum for the Scrivener and Scapple software? Probably you should look for a solution in a Microsoft software forum.

Re: Story/Series Timeline Tool

There is Aeon Timeline which can do all of the things you mentioned (and many more) and which synchronizes well with Scrivener. Aeon Timeline comes with a fully-functional free 20-day trial.

Re: Default icon files for a Windows user

Sorry, can’t help you with my windows version. But what is so special about the default icons? There are thousands of icons out there which look much better I think. And, because of a Scrivener bug, any icons you add in the windows version currently do not get colored according to Label color anyway...

Re: Accented characters don't work on Wine (Linux)

Sure, under Tools>Options>Corrections you can select - or, if not yet available, first download - a German dictionary (see manual B.6 Corrections ). However, you cannot have a multi-language project. So the dictionary is applied evenly to all documents in a project. Therefore also, unlike in Word, y...

As I said, use Wine 1.9.11. Works fine for me. No issues with the clipboard.
