Re: Exporting PDF?

Why not just print it as a pdf. Go to the Compile Draft panel, make your selections, then press the Print button. Then select Print as pdf. That's the way I do it.
This will work for any application (I think) on the mac that has a Print function.

Re: Compliments and Footnotes Suggestion

I like the idea of keeping the footnotes in the inspector. Good thinking. Hope that works out!

Re: Bibliotech interview

Nice! Maybe, if you can, it'd be good to link to this video from the home page. It might give people a good introductory idea of what Scrivener is all about. What I find is that many people fail to see how anything but a traditional word processor might be useful. This interview could help them with...

I haven't noticed any problems. I probably prefer the new interface.

Re: Scrivener 1.52 now available

Similar integration with Carbon Fin Outliner would be excellent. I don't imagine it's possible to make everything integrate with everything else, so I wouldn't hazard a request..., but I'm just saying it would be excellent. Their website allows OPML export, and Scrivener allows OPML import.... In th...

Now, that's one cool feature! Thanks for pointing it out.

Re: Scrivener and DevonThink Pro

I hadn't realised that my suggestion wasn't common knowledge.
It's actually one of the awesome useful features of Devonthink. Absolutely any application (at least any one I've tried) can accept a link directly into the DTP database.
A most excellent feature, I think.

Re: Scrivener and DevonThink Pro

Have you tried to Copy Item Link from DTP's Edit menu.
Then paste where you like into any other application.

When selected, the document opens up in DTP.
Is that what you need?

Re: Please help: Best organization, note taking apps for Tiger?

I'm using DTP myself, but I'm thinking of recommending Circus Ponies Notebook to someone who is not in the slightest capable of intuiting how software works. I've been playing around with it a bit to see if it is suitable. One concern I have is whether a single notebook can take a lot of data. Does ...

Excellent! Thanks too for the service scrubber link. That was something else I had wondered how to manage.

Eliminating spaces in imported text

Apologies if this has been answered, or if its so obvious that everyone already knows the answer... When I import text from another source (e.g. a pdf that I produced using other software) the lines are often broken wherever the source had a line break. Now I have the text copied into scrivener, and...

Re: Mellel 2.6

This new feature looks interesting: "* Smart style matching: with imported documents or documents with ad-hoc attributes, Mellel will smartly 'sense' the attributes in the text and match them. For example, if one applies a style to text with font in boldface, Mellel will look within the style f...

Re: Indenting in the binder

Another application that uses ESC in a way similar to the one described above is Mellel. There, if you are editing a footnote and want to return to the main text, where the footnote marker is, you hit ESC. In effect, you "escape" from one level to the higher level. This is the case also wi...

Re: Footnotes that are there but not seen

Yes, I understand the issue. I'm pretty sure there's no way to simply turn them off (as you can in lyx, for example), but you can change their opacity, so that the eye will skip over them. Look at the Typography panel in preferences. There you will see Ghost Notes Opacity, which allows you to contro...
