Window resize bug when note has focus

1) Start typing a new note 2) Without hitting <CR> or <esc> to get out of editing, resize the main window. Make it bigger. Watch how the note shrivels up to almost nothing. 3) Repeat (1) and (2) but this time make the window smaller. Watch how the note bigs isself up innit. All restored to normal wh...

Where? Where?

But I too agree.

Re: Texts

Me too. I've been using it the last few days. Clean, works with text/MD, has nice little tools for doing basic markup with shortcuts. It's still a subset of Markdown, though more than adequate for most people I suppose, and exports to PDF, .docx, HTML5, LaTeX, ePub, PanDoc etc. The developer's gone ...

Re: Novel-in-a-Day 2: The Revenge

[quote="matt"]I'm not sure which is more daunting: discovering I immediately followed Mr Bywater's opening in the last NIAD, or discovering that Mr Bywater came straight after me this time around. It's the NIAD equivalent of being handed a guitar while the Beatles took a 5 minute breather ...

That commenter, mr_schmuck or whatever he calls himself -- I wish I could say the comment is beyond belief but this is just teh interwebz and god knows what our grandchildren are going to inherit. Perhaps we should try to eliminate the crucial fallacy that everyone is entitled to his own opinion ......

Re: FoldingText and the PAPER notebook app - does it exist?

Juddbert, you're right, except TaskPaper doesn't have the folding and outlining that FoldingText does. But now I know that the tag filtering stunt is coming back to FT, I think that may be the answer.

Re: Novel-in-a-Day 2: The Revenge

Damn. Everyone else was fine. Me? I made a continuity error. DAMN. Where's that airlock? I'm outta here. But seriously -- thanks to the great and omniscient Pigfender without who God knows WHAT we'd have written. The worrying thing -- a bit worrying unless you're running an MFA course in creative wr...

Re: Novel-in-a-Day 2: The Revenge

Day kind of exploded in an actual paid-gig-crisis (so I have to go to Amsterdam at dawn) and I've only just got down to it an hour ago. 1440ww in and I have to ***** the ********* in the ********* ******* which is a kind of action scene so shouldn't take too long. Expect it by 22:30 and apologies fo...

Re: Novel-in-a-Day 2: The Revenge

PMs may not be getting through but, yes, I've got min, yes, the sleazy transvestite ballet dancer has found the key to the secret compartment in the vintage Lagonda, yes, they've slept together and, yes, the guy is playing Debussy's Poissons d'Or right now. The rainstorm will start shortly, the yach...

Re: FoldingText and the PAPER notebook app - does it exist?

I have difficulties to see why the process of jotting down inspirations in a notebook while walking the dog (which, indeed, should be as quick and simpel as possible) and the process of, well, processing those notes for further use should be the same. The second look, transfering relevant notes fro...

Re: FoldingText and the PAPER notebook app - does it exist?

Ah, but there's the rub -- I want a single-document model in the same sense that my notebooks are single-documents. (I've tried the various methods mentioned and though they work they're not ideal and take some setting-up.) Thing is this. What I don't do when I'm walking the dog and an idea comes to...

Re: JohannesG's Wishlist

I got the impression he meant something more like the CMap Tools implementation. Click on a note. The note frame shows a "hot zone". Click-and-drag on the hot zone and an arrow follows the pointer; release the mouse and a new note appears under the pointer. It's a nice trick and I wish oth...

FoldingText and the PAPER notebook app - does it exist?

No shortage of notebook apps of one sort or another. But they are computer versions of paper notebooks. What I need is a computer ADJUNCT to paper notebooks. And I haven't come across one; and I wonder if anyone knows of one. What I need to do is this: Fillet my paper notebooks, which, of course, ha...
