Re: I tried to like it. I really did.

Ideally, they would add a button that lets you insert another side bar, one that works exactly the same as the one that's already there. That way, you could have two, each viewing different things. Turn it on or off as you wish. This would be similar to how a lot of programs with customizable inter...

Re: Styles in RTF External Folder Sync

I create a file in scrivener. And I ad a style call "Heading 1" to a block of text. Then I sync with folder. This creates an rtf file for me to edit. I open it in Word, and the text has the font, color and syze of the "Heading 1" style, but it's actually "Normal" Style...

Re: [Bug] Default Text Colors Not Sticking on Create New Paragraph

I changed the default text color for each text file to white. I use styles and also have that set to white. However, creating a new paragraph defaults the text color to black and not the default color "white". It gets very annoying having to reset the colors each time. Hmm. Where are you ...

Re: Font styles removed from formatting when you close/re-open app

we should see a fix in the new release next week. :D :D :D Oh that would be SOOO amazing!! Actually, I'm surprised you were able to set a default format for new documents. In my [beta 2.9.06 31 May], the form does not allow me to change the new doc paragraph style nor main text formatting. Yeah, th...

Visual Bug: tables

I pasted a set of HTML tables from a web page, into a new document. That worked fine. The problem happens when I start editing the tables. Here's a screenshot: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1dxQTvAbkCo9DhhB8i9Tm5EFkeigSHo7G Notice near the bottom, the vertical lines separating the tables are not ...

Re: Spell check doesn't work if "Check spelling as you type" is unchecked

Scrivener 2.9.0.6 on Windows .... If I have Check Spelling as You Type unchecked then when I do Edit->Spelling, it immediately comes back "Spell check complete" with no errors. If I then turn Check Spelling as You Type back on, a) I can see red underlines that some words are wrong, and b)...

Re: Moving by paragraphs doesn't work

Seems a very basic thing. Am I the only one with this issue? The manual claims it is supposed to work as expected: 15.2 Editing Basics 15.2.1 Caret Movement and Selection The following list shows the shortcuts for changing the current selection. To simply instead move the current insertion caret po...

[LH3096] Corkboard count of entries is off

I created a project with a number of documents underneath one folder. Click on the folder, and the corkboard shows, as expected. Click inside the corkboard and select All. The status bar says 697 of 41 items. Screenshot: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1L-1zqOMq72Of-Z0haNx6qf8y5h1EbBZc What is it c...

Re: I tried to like it. I really did.

...why didn't I think of that ... probably because you would loose all of the proper synopsis features, e.g.: - no more synopses on corkboard cards - no more synopses right under the title in outliner - no more formatting of synopsis font in options - plus probably the loss of a lot more features a...

Re: Bug: Folder in Project Bookmarks not working as expected

According to this blog post (https://literatureandlatte.com/blog/bookmarking-folders-in-scrivener-3) folders added to the Project Bookmarks should have a drop-down to access files within. Mine does not; not in a new project, new folder, or any other variation I could think of. Version: 2.9.0.6 Beta...

Re: "You should write on paper" advice

I started out many years ago making notes on index cards and/or a small notebook (after much experimentation, I settled on the cheapish Moleskine Caheers, as being the most durable for the money). Cheap 80-page composition books (when they're on sale, I buy a few. Last purchase was 50 cents each) a...

Re: "Series Bible" in a different project than the novels in a series?

I maintain my series bible -- well, it's more like a big world-building project -- in a separate location completely. However, when I write individual stories, I'll take a snapshot of pertinent information and pull it in the story's scrivener project as a read-only PDF. That way I can reference it ...
