Re: Almost a Bug: A couple of Essential Compile Options Missed

So (1): While there is a special tab for ‘Footnotes and Comments’ options, I am sure the option to assign all footnotes (and probably endnotes) a special style—built-in or, better, user-defined—is obvious necessity and hopefully not a fundamental technical problem. In compile you can override the f...

Re: Images disappearing

After converting the project and experimenting with styles and fonts, I found that the images I had inserted in the text were no longer displayed. In the Scrivener 1 version, the image files (mostly jpg, with some png) were stored in the Files\Docs folder, but the folder structure is different in t...

Re: Moving file or folder from Scrivener 1 to Scrivener "3" Beta 22 multiplies items by 9

Hello xenonexia, Could you please send a small project (from 1.9) that displays this issue when you move the files into a 3.0 project? Since there seems to be no way to reproduce this with smaller och newly created projects, is there any other way I can help you get the information you need? Maybe ...

Re: [not quite a bug] "i.e.," always capitalized

Add a substitution for this. (Corrections -> Substitutions -> checkbox for enable additional substitutions; then Edit Substitutions). Sadly, none of my attempts worked: I.e. --> i.e. I.e., --> i.e., , I.e., --> , i.e., The "I" gets capitalized as soon as I type the adjacent period, and no...

Re: <b24> Jumping cursor revisited

I need to locate a mouse, as I'm mostly using Scrivener on my laptop. The trackpad is rather stiff, so I'm 99% certain I'm not clicking it inadvertently. It could be a driver problem, but at least I have the latest versions installed and I've not seen the problem with other software. (Of course, I ...

Re: Bug 2.9.0.24 beta, editing shortcut for invisibles characters does not work

Still a bug. Ctrl+Alt+I did not work for me either. Ctrl+shift+i works (have to void another shortcut i don't use, but that's okay for now). The keyboard shortcut panel would accept Ctrl+Alt+I, but the shortcut does not work. It types an "I." Capital I. I tried Ctrl+Alt+M. Same idea. It a...

Easiest way to reset all that is to copy everything into a new project created with the new Beta. I think.

Re: Bug: Start speaking shortcut doesn't work?

The two menu items for speech, as listed in the keyboard options, are Stop Speaking and Start/Pause Speaking. (In practice, this shows as "Continue Speaking" in the Speech menu when you've paused the speech in the course of reading the document.) So long as I removed F8 and F11 as shortcu...

[JH] Bug: Start speaking shortcut doesn't work?

I set Start Speaking to F11, and Start/pause speaking to F8 (after clearing the current use of F8).
F11 doesn't do anything.
F8 seems to do what it says it does.

Re: [SUGGESTION] Pleez add shortcut keys for speech

Btw, if there were a toggle hotkey or a toggle context menu item, the toggle would effectively eliminate any need for a pause. It would be SO much less clumsy to use Speech if there were a toggle. I've gotta stop the speaking to edit something I hear needs changing, then reposition/restart to pick ...

Re: [not quite a bug] "i.e.," always capitalized

I define/explain terms in-line, so I use "i.e.," a lot. Autocorrect of "i" is a nuisance in this case. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to check for "i " and "i. " and autocorrect those while leaving everything else alone. "i_" where "_"...

Re: Beta 24: Numbered / Bulleted List Issues

Bullets and numbering are still a bit buggy. As a workaround, try reapplying numbering when the numbers get all wonky (as in example 2). Not guaranteed to work well, but if the numbers are out of order, it should fix that (tried it here). On a list that mixes bullets with numbers, renumbering will r...

Re: Beta 24 update stalls at "Unpacking icudtl.dat"

What is Scrivener trying to add to the registry? Quite some few settings go into the registry. Your toolbar settings, the location of the install, current version number, default icon, the shell command string to start Scrivener, all the options you set in the Options dialog, the current layout, an...
