Re: Picture to avatar

As expected, I haven't the faintest clue as what this conversation is about despite my having started the thread.

Re: Help needed

You naughty, dirty little man, vic-k. This is supposed to have been an intelligent conversation about Kant or something like that. Now you've made it about 'holes' and things that go into holes. I take it back, one CAN be witty, WITHOUT being a creature of reason...vic-k take this then as a complime...

Re: Help needed

Don't beat too much on Kant. He spent most of his life in his room, thinking up things like why reason is reason. And if you get him, you'll find he's worth the effort. Now here's the question: is there a thing that is witty and yet not reasonable? There are plenty of things reasonable and not witty...

Re: Help needed

What's with this whole thing about reason and wit? They're yin and yan to each other. To borrow from McCarthy, they are "each the other world's entire" To borrow from Shakespeare, "they are two spent swimmers that choke their art" Mutually interdependent to the extent that they a...

Re: Happy Tenth Anniversary, Shipmates

Congrats to Keith and posse. Your software truly helped me get better grades, which hopefully translates to a better job in due course. Which will hopefully get me a better looking wife. And better looking children. And grandchildren. And die a peaceful death, hopefully having an orgasm.

Re: MacBook Pro (retina): 2016 vs 2015—which to buy?

I got the 15" touch bar, with discrete graphics. Yup, my wallet was in tears. But here's my advice: it's a portable computer that's a lot better at not being portable. Mine essentially sits to the side, and is attached to 2 monitors, one of them 4k (which it drives very well). The only reason w...

Re: editor colours

I see the options. But what if one changes the background colour for the editor. Will that background colour scheme come out in the compile, or does it revert to the original? I suppose I could just test this out myself, but in the event there's a glitch in my computer, I just want to know the offic...

editor colours

Is there a way to change the textual colours, and background but maintain the original colours of the text and the background in the compiled document? Essentially, I'd like white letters on a background. But when I compile it into a word document, I want to be regular colours, of black letters on a...

So ... you're stood in the middle of the prairie, and y' know ... y' just know y're gonna be struck by lightning any second. How you respond will depend upon whether the lightning is positively charged, or negatively charged ... won't it? In the event there's a shard of sobriety to this comment my ...

Base font

If I want scrivener to load up to a specific font in the editor everytime I open it, how do I make this happen. I'm wondering about this in the iOS port too. Hope to hear from someone soon.
