Yes, I do this too. Certainly can't hurt!

Re: What is the best way to save and back up with Scrivener?

I have set backups on each system to not be zipped (to minimise risks of corruption.) Hi SirKnight, This is not a good idea. In fact, zipping the projects should *decrease* the risk of corruption, because then whatever syncing and backup services you use only have to deal with one zipped file, and ...

Re: Drafts

Yeah, it's not the easiest thing to find.

Click on the pull down by your user name, upper left

Select Settings

Select Manage Drafts

Select Load Draft for the one you want to modify.

Post away!!!

Jim

Re: Where am I saving?

Is there a way to find out where I initially told it to save documents I'm working on in the program? Like Tools->Options shows where the backups go, Is there a place that shows where the non-backup versions were told to be saved? Hi cjzurcher, Strictly speaking, no. But--if you have a project open...

Re: How do I use Scrivener 3 with two authors

We both have Scrivener 3 on Mac, how can I do what I need. Follow Lunk's instructions: If you have Dropbox and have your Scriv projects in a designated folder, put the mutual project in a subfolder and give your co-writer access to that. Then make sure you open the project, write, close it, and the...

Re: Scrivener Templates location

Chuck and Brookter, Now I recall the other thing that gets stored in that AppData folder: Custom compile settings. This discussion led me to this post, which discusses a possible solution to the symbolic linking Brookter tried on Windows: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3766...

Re: Scrivener Templates location

I located where Scrivener is saving (my) custom templates (C:\Users\CWBillow\AppData\Local\LiteratureAndLatte\Scrivener\ProjectTemplates\) , but it seems that all that is/are there are my custom templates. Hi Chuck, Yes, that matches where custom templates are stored on my PC. What folder(s) do I n...

Me too. That's why, in addition to the desktop version, I use iOS Scrivener.

Re: Help Please

Hi Ellen,

In the editor, you can use the pinch gesture to zoom your text in and out, Sounds like you pinched the text, to zoom out.

To expand your text, unpinch. (Place 2 fingers together on the screen, then spread them apart.)

Re: Outlining linking to text

Chuck, in Scrivener, internal links are called Scrivener Links.

You can create Scrivener Links to link from text to a document, but you cannot link text to text.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. Both the 32gb and 64gb devices were iPad Air 2 models.

Re: Ipad 32gb or Ipad Air 3 64gb?

I agree with the others: 32gb is not enough space. My first ipad purchase was a 32gb model, but after a few days I realized that wouldn’t work long term, and returned it for the ipad air 2 64gb that i am still using today. Bought it in 2016, hope to get another year or three out of it. It is perfect...

Re: Are you happy with Scrivener on iOS?

On Scrivener for iOS, I would only want to open my book, then add / change text in the editor. I would leave all the "hard" tasks (formatting, compiling) for when I'm back on my Mac. So here's the question. Are you happy with Scrivener on iOS? Does it work well for basic writing needs, an...
