Re: Scrolling within Index Cards

...If you want to edit the card text... Hi brookter, If I properly understand JD's request, he's not asking for editing capability. He is asking for display (read-only) of the entire doc in the corkboard, with the capability to scroll thru the entire doc. All from the cork board itself, and if ther...

[LH4036] Corkboard locks program

Using Beta 23 on Win 7 Pro. Under certain circumstances, using the Corkboard causes Scrivener to lock/freeze. In this particular case, when the Corkboard has 16 documents displayed in it, Sciv will lock. This issue seems to be *extremely* dependent on the screen layout, corkboard sizing, and monitor...

Re: Scrolling within Index Cards

Jack,

What you’re asking for would be handy, and I would certainly use it.

Have you tried the Three Pane Corkboard layout mentioned by Silverdragon upthread? Not quite the same, but probably the closest you’re going to get within the current Scrivener feature set.

Best,
Jim

Re: Scrivener won’t sync to dropbox

Rargen, other folks are also experiencing issues with iOS13 + latest Scriv update + Dropbox syncing. See this thread: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=58741&p=299073#p299073 Just so you know, it's not just you. Seems to be a problem with the Scriv update.

Re: possible bug--windows taskbar

Hi dlorah,

You should post this in the beta forum or request a Mod to move it there.

Re: Scrivener Won't Open

Hi theabnormals, Sounds like you've got an older version of the beta installed on your system, and that it's currently set as the default program for scriv files. Download and install the latest *prod* version of Scrivener 1.9.14 from here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener/download (Clic...

@RobertoCrissini observed similar behavior in another thread, with a different font.

Re: Text returns to bold on opening file

I checked nearly 50 fonts, and these 8 below, from 4 different font families, are the only ones that exhibit the bolding problem. I've included a download location, in case that helps your testing. https://quoteunquoteapps.com/courierprime/ COURIER PRIME MEDIUM https://www.1001fonts.com/gabriele-fon...

Re: Text returns to bold on opening file

Attached is a sample project that uses a font exhibiting the problem. The font is the lovely Gabriel Black Ribbon, which was my favorite typewriter font for drafting until I began using the Beta. :( I've had to move to another font while using the beta, because text using Gabriel Black Ribbon will k...

Re: Text returns to bold on opening file

Yeah, I'm seeing this too, but only with certain fonts. Most fonts--and I've tested a couple dozen--work as expected. I'll upload a sample project when I get a moment. Just FYI, when I noticed this oddness with bolding on certain fonts, I also noticed another difference between how Scriv 1 and Beta ...

Hi Ron,

A similar request was made in 2016 and declined by L&L.

You can find the request and L&L's response in the thread below, along with some tips on working around this limitation:

Please describe the actual issue. What error message(s) are you receiving?

What version of Scrivener were you running successfully before.

What version of Scrivener are you having troubles with now?

Re: How do I change the font & font-size for all drafts?

Hi Omar, As lunk says, there is only one drafts folder in a Scrivener project, so by 'draft items' I assume you mean documents located within/under the Drafts folder. After you've set Scrivener's default font and sizing as you like, all *new* docs will be created with that font and sizing. To change...

To be clear, the happy hopping cursor only happens to me in Scrivening mode.

During single doc editing, everything is beautiful.

Just wanted to thank the contributors to this thread, as I'm in the market for new laptop + external monitor(s), and the info here has really increased my understanding.

Particularly, thank you narrsd, for persevering in your font research! :D
