Re: Feature request: restore exact position

Good luck with this suggestion even getting a response from the forum community. It is close to my request to highlight the line being read during text to speech and is similar coding on Windows platform, but I don't know how much the management allows the Windows programmers to read or learn of re...

Re: How to edit a file in split screen without affecting locked version?

No, you're editing the same doc, and seeing it via two separate views, so your edits will apply to both views. That's only one doc you're looking at. It works in Scrivener exactly the same way as it would in Word if you had the same document open in two different windows. What I do in this scenario ...

Re: Why Scrivener

Not trying to be condescending, as yours is a legitimate question, but L&L's marketing does a pretty good job of summarizing the feature set that Scrivener has over the alternatives in your post. So have a look at that here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener/overview Or you can do wha...

Re: Helvetica Across Platforms (Mac to Windows)

Hi Matt, I'm no font expert, so take my input with a grain of salt. Disclaimer aside, while Helvetica came 'free' with your Mac, it is not a free font. My understanding is that the Helvetica fonts you've downloaded from the free sites are, strictly speaking, pirated. They may also be incomplete and/...

Re: "Saved Using a Newer Version of Scrivener..."

Hi bravethefog, It looks like you were writing in Mac v3, whose format is incompatible with the current production Windows 1.9 version that you just purchased. There is a Win v3 in the works, but it's currently in beta, so still buggy. When L&L does release the Windows v3 version, you will be en...

Re: Tracking Characters and Locations suggestions

Hi Stacey, I'm using Win 1.9 and iOS versions, so in a similar boat as you, in that I want to track things but have to do so at the "weakest link" level, which is iOS Scriv. So keywords are out. For tracking locations, the method I'm using is not very elegant, but it is simple, Since I'm u...

Re: How to set default text formatting for whole project

Hi DownUnderDabbler, After you’ve followed Argoed’s instructions for setting your default font for *new* documents, you may want to change the font of *existing* documents in a project to the default. Here’s how: 1) In the Binder, Select the Draft folder 2) Change the view to Outliner. View > Outlin...

It doesn't. :D

If you're using the Beta, always post in the beta forum. Even existing 1.9 functionality will possibly be changed in v3, so this is a KISS thing.

Hi Jason,

If you're on the Windows beta, then this should be posted in the beta forum. You may want to PM a mod to move it.
