Re: Am I using this wrong?

Hi Scrivictim, So... on the bright side, I haven't had the need to re-enter registration in about six months. On the dark side, I never got an answer about that issue particularly, or about my questions above. On the bright side, Scrivener seems powerful, and they do fix bugs that should have never ...

Re: Export corkboard as Mindmap, or format it as index cards in a PDF?

As you've posted in the Windows Beta forum, my assumption is that you're on the beta. :) I haven't done any of this myself, but hopefully can point you in the right direction. Is there a way to export one's corkboard "index cards" as a Mindmap (for use in Freemind etc)? File > Export > OPM...

Re: Online Version (?)

I'll pass. Plus it's an online service. Where would my work go if they suddenly close shop? No, tnx. Looks like Dabble has a desktop version, as well as the online one. https://www.dabblewriter.com/downloads Not quite as good as Scrivener, but not bloody far off! I don't agree with that assessment....

Re: [BUG] - Choppy Precision Touchpad Scrolling

Have you tried running the High DPI version of the Windows Beta? If you're interested in seeing if it will make a difference, you can find it on the beta download page, at the bottom of the Release notes: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=40621 Be aware though, some t...

Re: Root Folder Types and Icons

Is there any way around this apparent limitation on creating additional Draft folders or changing their icons to match something else? I'm sure there's some reasoning behind this, but it's a bit frustrating right now. No, I don't think so. It seems that the Draft folder icon and the Folder icons ar...

Re: sync with external folder: can I make it occurr automatically when closing the project?

Hi Tiziano, I'm on the Windows Beta, but External Sync works the same as the Mac. There an option in the Sync Folder panel that controls this: "Check external folder on project open and automatically sync on close". But that should already be checked by default, so maybe it's not working c...

Re: from old beta to new beta (or official release)

Only thing to add is that uninstalling/reinstalling Scrivener will delete any customizations you've made via Options. If you want to keep your customization, then prior to uninstalling, save them to a file. (File > Options > Manage > Save Options to file) After reinstalling, load them back into Scri...

Re: Styles are super flaky in general

If this is in regards to the Windows beta version, then you might want to PM a mod to move it to the beta forum, so the developers see it.

Best,
Jim

Re: Pasted text from now deleted file in trash disappears next day

I wrote something yesterday that's mysteriously deleted this morning (not in any backups - already checked). Couple questions in addition to GR's points: Did you close Scrivener when you were done working yesterday? Or did you invoke Backup Now yesterday after making your changes? If you did neithe...

In the first post, the OP had written Scribd, not Scrivener. That was corrected in the second post where they quoted themselves.

Re: MAYBE BUG -- COPY-CUT Before PASTE Operation

I've never purposefully done Ctrl-C > Ctrl-X > Ctrl-P, so can't comment on that. But I certainly do Ctrl-C > Ctrl-P and Ctrl-X > Ctrl-P a zillion times a day, and I don't recall a failure. Jwhitten, it would be interesting if you can come up with a repeatable sequence that causes this issue. If you'...

Re: Move to Trash is not working

I can't recall ever hearing of this one before.

So, if you right click on a text document in the binder, the Move to Trash option is greyed out?

Is it like this for all of your projects?

Re: Is it safe to re-install/refresh Scrivener?

The question is: Is it safe to uninstall and re-install Scrivener on my PC-desktop. so that I can start afresh? Yes, but that won't help any of the possible problems you've listed in your post. If you do uninstall/reinstall, be sure to save your customized settings (Tools > Options > Manage > Save ...

Re: Compiling to Word doc

Hi Andrew, Welcome to Scrivener and the boards. :) Yes, Scrivener can do what you want, but I've never done it myself, so cannot provide you with specific instructions. To get this post viewed by the folks who can actually provide you guidance, you may want to PM a moderator and ask them to move it ...
