Re: Dropbox vs other cloud sync?

I use and am happy with DropBox, but can work within the 3x device limit. I've read posts here that people have been using OneDrive (on Win10) for syncing without issue. I've heard nothing about Google except that it should be avoided. There's a regular poster here who has successfully used a servic...

Re: Copying and pasting from Word results in a halved page.

Check your Editor settings. File > Options > Appearance > Main Editor.

Specifically, try disabling Use fixed width editor and see if that gives you what you want.

Re: [34] Compiler window fails to resize properly

I've been using 1920 x 1080 at 125% since purchasing this particular laptop in September, and it's been fine. Works for all the apps I use. In the occasional situations when my eyes are tired after hours and hours staring at the screen, I will increase the brightness a bit. Or take a break! But it's...

Re: Expiration date on Beta 35?

I didn't see an expiration date at the download page either, but it's 1/31, based on the message received after launching the beta.

Re: [34] Compiler window fails to resize properly

Hi konssam, Sounds like you are experiencing the same issue as the folks in this thread: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=60050 , to which the developer has responded that the minimum vertical resolution for Windows Desktop Scriv (beta) is 1080px at 100% scaling . My...

Re: Custom formating scenario

Scrivener has a 30 day free trial. That's 30 days of *usage*, not 30 *calendar* days. Be sure to try before you buy.

Re: Why are some document icons white and some yellow?

Edit: I figured it out. It's yellow on screenplay documents, and white on documents that aren't screenplay. I didn't pick up on this until I paid attention when making my next document the screenplay format. Yup, that's it. See Section 7.1 of the user manual for a picture of all the other icon poss...

Re: Revision Mode (?)

Your attitude is insulting but I will entertain you attempts to make me look like a person with a limited mental capacity. I certainly wasn't saying anything about your mental capacity. I was pointing out that your actions--wading in and deleting text with an untried feature and zero due diligence-...

Hi Keith, this belongs in the Beta forum, if you want the devs to see it. You may want to PM a mod to move it there.

Best,
Jim

Re: Revision Mode (?)

Hi Michael, I want to be sure what you're saying. What I think I heard was that you found Scrivener has a feature you've never used before, called Revision Mode. It sure does sound promising, so you decide to try it out. But instead of cracking open the manual and reading Section 18.6 (*one* paragra...

Re: Typing Lag

The first help was when I started a new file and set all of Scrivener's preferences to defaults as my previous document contained over 230 thousand words. Hi Edber, Scrivener should be able to easily handle 230k words in one *project*. But if you're keeping 230k words in one *document*, then a typi...

Re: Using Scrivener with blue light blocking software

I used Flux when I was on Win7, and found it to be flexible and effective. Now that I’m on Win10, I find the features built into the OS to be sufficient for my purposes.

Best,
