Re: Text Selection on iPad?

Generally, I avoid selecting text directly with my fingers. Typically I'm on a bluetooth keyboard, so I'll use shift + arrow keys to select text, same as I would on the desktop version. If I happen to be using the iOS on-screen keyboard, then I'll use the text select button + arrow keys on Scrivener...

Re: Passive Verbs?

Hi NamoNakiMichi, Take a close look at pages from the novels of a few writers you admire. Mixed in here and there with the active, vibrant verbs, you'll find passive verbs. You'll find adverbs. Sometimes, lots of them. And you'll find sentences structured in the passive voice, possibly when the auth...

Re: Adaptation to small screen for compilation (beta 25)

Greetings - If you right click on the title bar, select Size, and press the down arrow key, the window will be resized if possible to disclose its bottom edge, at least on Win 10 v. 19.03. Just press Enter to accept the changed size. Rgds - Jerome Jerome -- Wow, yet another Win10 trick I didn't kno...

Re: F11 no longer exits composition/full screen mode

For another data point, F11 still toggles correctly for me in Beta 25.

Re: Where are "favorites" coming from in the Windows beta?

I'm still seeing this 'favorites' behavior in beta 25.

Is this a feature or a bug?

I read this thread through twice, but couldn't tell either way from the L&L responses.

Best,

Re: Upgrade to .14; Scrivener no longer works

Also, prior to your uninstall, be sure you know where on your hard drive you store *your* data: your Scrivener live project folders, as well as your Scrivener zipped backups. None of your data will be deleted by the Scriv program uninstall process, but Scrivener will forget your 'Open Recent' projec...

Re: Upgrade to .14; Scrivener no longer works

Worst case you could always try uninstalling .14 and reinstalling a prior version. https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener/release-notes?os=Windows Be sure to save your preferences before doing so. Tools > Options > Manage > Save Preferences. There is no way to save your toolbar setup, so take ...

Re: Samsung tab 6 compatibiliy!!

Hi Anurakclark, There is no Android Scrivener at this time, although developing one is apparently on L&L's long term to do list. I wouldn't expect it any time soon, and I wouldn't make any hardware purchases in anticipation of it. I've written 100k+ words on iOS Scriv, so I think it's a pretty a...

See this thread for discussion of this issue: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=58459

You may want to go to the last page and work backwards, as the thread is many pages. :(

Re: New Project Backed Up My Entire Desktop Instead of What it was Supposed To Do.

I am 100% positive I did not accidentally drag the .scrivx file to my desktop. All I did was put a shortcut there. I did not check the extension of the shortcut because it vanished when Scrivener did its weird thing. It's done this twice to me on two different computers. I've been using Scrivener f...

Re: New Project Backed Up My Entire Desktop Instead of What it was Supposed To Do.

...and put the shortcut on my desktop... Are you positively absolutely 100% sure you put the *shortcut* on the desktop and not the actual *scrivx* file? Asking because, as rdale pointed out, what you've described is *exactly* what would happen if you moved a scrivx file to your desktop (or any othe...

Re: Expirations on Beta versions

Hi martienne, You are, of course, entitled to your opinion about excessive licensing practices. The thing is, this thread has nothing to do with licensing practices. The OP is a rant about the expiration date on beta software. Surely, as someone who works in software development, you agree that deve...

Re: Switch chapters in Composition Mode

Thanks. In Comp mode you are seeing text as if you were in Scrivenings mode, and it really would not make sense to show the outliner or cork board mode while in Comp, so it seems completely natural that it shows text. But my understanding of Scrivenings mode is that it refers to text mode in the Ed...
