Re: [LH543] Screenplay formatting still broken??

If you’re using 64 bit Scriv, try CD to Program Files, not Program Files (x86).

Re: [BUG?] Is Beta 36 SUPPOSED to use almost 3 GBs of RAM?

Every time I click on a folder in the Binder, memory jumps. More for large folders, less for smaller ones, but ALWAYS UP. Yes, when you select a folder you're going into Scrivenings mode. In the screenshot, you've got the Scrivenings mode button selected in your toolbar. So maybe the "can't cr...

Re: iOS Font Issue Not Matching OS Project Settings

Scrivener needs the font installed, so you'll need to use a font that exists on all the platforms you're running Scrivener on. I could be wrong, but I don't think Scrivener is unique in this way, you'd probably need to do the same for Word or any other writing app. I didn't find this to be a huge ch...

Re: [LH543][LH4345] Screenplay formatting still broken??

Tiho, I ran QTDIAG on my laptop and the results are puzzling, to say the least.. => Physical DPI: 157.825,157.655 Logical DPI: 96,96 Subpixel_None This is for a 1920 x 1080 14" monitor set at 100% scaling. QT's physical DPI of 157 is correct for my monitor. But how it then calculates a logical ...

Re: Virtual Keyboard overlaps typing area on iPhone XR

I think I’ve found a fix. Delete Scrivener from your phone and reinstall it. I also rebooted the phone before downloading it again from the App Store. The last line of text now doesn’t disappear below the keyboard! No guarantees this’ll work for other users but it worked for me! :D Wish I’d tried t...

Yup, I’m seeing this too, on an iPhone 7 running 12.4.1. Using Scriv 1.2.1.

Re: Version 2.9.0.36

Hi 7paddy,

It still works for me.

In the Tutorial, See section Draft > The Basics > Get Organized > Splitting the Editor and walk through the steps outlined.

(Be sure to try Alt-Click.)

Does it not work for you?

Best,
Jim

If no DropBox app installed, where would user sign into DropBox account?

Re: Forced constant beta update

Either make the expiry date longer, or make the updates automatic. I wouldn't even be here complaining, if I wasn't forced to go to this site all the time, to fetch the latest version. Hi martienne, In case you're not aware, you can change Scriv prefs to alert you when an update is available. F12 >...

Re: Wish list: voice/speech

Hi LizM, I don't think Scrivener has it's own speech engine. Rather, it seems to be giving you access to the one built into Windows. (And possibly others, if you load speech engines from other vendors onto your PC.) See the manual, page 545. You can check this by launching Word and accessing Word's ...

Re: Compile layout/ edit compile

It's been a while since I've used v1.9 compile, but I can try to help. :) What Project Template did you use when you created the project? What Compile Format ("Format As:") are you using to compile? Could you upload a screen shot of your project's Title Page. These things will give me a be...

Re: Same problem

The previous version expired on January 20, 2020, so today I downloaded the latest version -- which is still 1.0.16, from last November 19th. The previous version 2.34 of the Windows Beta expired Jan 20. The Windows beta project format is incompatible with the version 1.16, which is why you're seei...

Re: Using colored text to define things in the editor

Ioa and Silverdragon,

Thank you for this discussion! I've never had a need for styles before, but I happen to have a use case now in a story I'm working on. Good to know the pros/cons/workarounds before I give it a try. :)

Best,
Jim
