Re: Thanks for the update regarding release!

I'm in the middle of a manuscript due to my editor in less than two months. As you mentioned you're risk adverse AND you have a short term deadline, my recommendation is to finish and deliver your work in the old version. At that point it'll be near the end of August, which is when the Windows v3 r...

Re: Error when opening file on ownCloud

Now I tried as JimRac suggested and tried opening a copy of the Scrivener project on my Windows machine, and I got the same error report by PDF loader as when it was on ownCloud: "Could not load PDF file for printing" After that, it's stuck. So that means the 'load PDF file' issue isn't d...

Re: [LH1532] Scrivenings page up/down moves to doc top/bottom

I'm in Beta 18, and page up/page down in Scrivenings mode is not working as expected.

Thanks,
Jim

Re: Error when opening file on ownCloud

In addition to Lunk’s questions, does the project open correctly in the beta if you move your project files out of ownCloud and onto your local hard drive?

Re: Question: Will Scrivener beta uninstall affect my scrivener 1.x installation?

I'm on Windows 7 and have uninstalled/installed numerous version of the beta without impact to v1.9. I always uninstall the beta from Control Panel, have no idea if that makes a difference or not, but at least I'm clear on what I'm uninstalling. After installing the beta, I do a reinstall of v1.9, b...

Re: No backups?

I think you've done this already, but you may want to double-check your beta settings and confirm the folder you've got the beta pointing to for backups. I also run the beta and 1.9, have them pointing to different backup folders, and it works fine. Not saying you're not seeing an issue! Just pointi...

Re: Comparing backups

Hi Max,

There's nothing like this in Windows Scriv that I'm aware of.

Do you have Word?

If so, you could compile both projects into separate Word docs and then use Word's compare feature.

Re: Beta not reverse-compatible with Scrivener 1 for windows?

There’s no way to go back, which is one of the reasons I don’t use the beta. Eventually they’ll likely implement the Export to v2 feature that the Mac has. If you know anyone with a Mac, you could send them your project and ask them to export it for you. Otherwise, it’s copy paste. Although you coul...

Re: Music for writing

Well having found the cliche of a coffee shop benificial I then found mynoise.net. There are so many soundscapes there and the real thing is to change ones environment as this is a stimulus for creativity. Each soundscape can be fixed or set to vary over time. I've found it useful for work and to a...

Re: Document showing up empty

From inside Scrivener, are *all* documents showing up empty? What and how devices are you syncing? What synching service(s) are you using? Where do you store the zipped backups that Scriv creates? This may be the most important question. On all your devices, you’ll want to IMMEDIATELY copy the folde...
