Re: Huge page margin discrepancy between Scrivener and Word

I also get that Scrivener’s editor is a way to enter text, pretty much independent of the output format. That’s good. Now I need to hunt in the compile menu for a setting which sets the “real” page margins. How DO people export/compile their œvres to Word and have it arrive their in a sensible form...

In v1, it's Format > Options > Show Invisibles.

Re: Still don't understand the denial of need for Zotero or Mendeley integration

Hi manni27, It seems to me that you have ignored KB's post above. In case you don't realize it, he's the founder of Scrivener: the lead developer, the main man, the head honcho. The big cheese. El jefe. The big Kahauna. Numero uno. Keith's the decision maker. He's is the one you need to convince. Ot...

Hi Helen,

Perhaps you would so kind as to tell me what it was about my post that offended you, so I can avoid to do it next next time.

Best,

Re: Mark sections of text as "Not for Word Count"

Hi Helen,

If, after reading the above explanations, you're still not clear on the suggestions for deriving word counts, please see this post, which has a potentially helpful screenshot. https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=317858#p317858

Okay Katherine, I had no idea Binder Affects had that affect.

Just for kicks, you might want to try changing your theme, in case that's a factor.

Re: Split Screen - is it working properly?

Firstly, I can only see the option split vertically. In Windows Scriv, holding down the Alt key toggles the button between vertical/horizontal splitting. Not sure which button this would be on the Mac, but with experimentation you'll figure it out. You can also control via the menu. View > Editor L...

Re: distinguishing the active from inactive editor in split screen mode requires eagle eyes

Interesting. In the Windows Scriv v3 beta, there is a clear distinction between active (blue) vs. inactive (not blue). See the screenshot. Difference.jpg I've reviewed Options, and cannot locate one that looks relevant. Unfortunately, this doesn't help you directly. :( But at least it matches the Ma...

Re: Windows MAC compare

L&L's stated goal is feature parity. There are likely to be some scenarios where this cannot be achieved, due to differences in Mac vs. Win OS. For instance, Mac supports tabbed windows. Win does not. That's not a Scriv thing, it's an OS thing. or will it include the updates that MAC v3 has had ...

Re: Comp mode - Keyboard shortcut from Editor to Inspector doesn't work

OTOH, I just noticed when I went to the bottom of the composition mode screen that the Inspector is an available choice, so perhaps I (as I frequently do) erred. I have a dual monitor setup like you. When drafting or revising a story, my current fav Scriv layout is to have a doc (or docs in Scriven...

Re: New Computer: Transferring Scrivener

The thought of going to a search box to find a Control Panel function raises the following paranoid scenario: Let's see, what is that called exactly? Type, search. Type, search. Type, search. Shoot, I'll have to open the Control Panel and look for it. Type "Control Panel." Search, search,...

Comp mode - Keyboard shortcut from Editor to Inspector doesn't work

On RC8.

When using the main editor, Windows key+Alt+Shift+1 repositions the cursor inside Inspector Notes.

This keyboard shortcut doesn't work from the Composition Mode editor to the Comp Inspector notes.

Is it supposed to?

Re: Little help uploading to iCloud?

Are these three saved to my iPad memory or are they in iCloud? I have no idea how to tell if I've done this right. If I wanted to verify something had been saved to iCloud Drive, I would check via the browser. You list Win, so if you have a PC available, navigate to https://www.icloud.com/ via the ...
