Re: v1.9x conversion to Beta 39

Downloading B39 from the site & reinstalling (meaning not doing a Windows uninstall) should leave your toolbars intact. At least it has for me.

We've got a few Windows gurus that hang out here, perhaps one of them will come along to give you some more advice. :D

Re: v1.9x conversion to Beta 39

Hi Twolane, Scriv v1.9 vs. beta files both share the same .scrivx extension, so Windows should recognize whichever program you installed last as the association with .scrivx. If you reinstall the beta, that should fix the association. You don't need to uninstall first, but be sure to specify the sam...

Re: A great program marred by critical flaws in core functionality.

Hi griffin1101, I disagree with your conclusions re: the responses in this thread, but (of course) you're entitled to your opinion. In the meantime (professionally) I continue to use "industry standard" writing software, which is backed by the professional developers and support engineers,...

Re: The line I am typing on is always cut off

Yup, this is a known issue, discussed in the thread linked below.

L&L is aware and working on a fix.

In the meantime, the workaround is to leave a few blank lines at the end of your document.

Re: File size not shrinking when images deleted?

My assumption was the OP had originally copy/pasted images into the Scriv docs, then in the effort to reduce size, had deleted the images, but not the docs. If that's the case, Scriv trash would not be involved, which is why I inquired about the possibility of document snapshots. Good idea about lin...

Clark,

Any chance you've got snapshot of docs that still have images in them?

Just a thought...

The beta download page now says b38 expires 3/1, so they must've updated since the last time you checked. 8)

BeClaire wrote:Will Scrivener automatically keep all of the work from the Trial version when I purchase the real deal?
Yes. Nothing changes. The trial version is the full version, all that happens is you register it.

Yes. Have fun with it. :D

Re: Is there an undo typing feature on IOS?

Thanks for the answers! I was hoping "undo" could be a button on the interface and not on the keyboard itself. If I'm using a bluetooth keyboard (which I usually do) the "apple" keyboard" doesn't come up. But I'll often put the bluetooth keyboard aside and will navigate thr...

Re: Just starting

Be sure to download the free 30 day trial before you buy, and run through the interactive Tutorial. For your specific question, see section 10.1 File Import in the manual. 10.1.5 Import and Split is probably what you'll want to do. The process is roughly: 1- Inside your Word doc, insert a separator ...

Yes, Iowa, I just did a quick test, and leaving a few blank lines at the end of the doc seems to be a viable work around.

If you’re using 64 bit Scriv, try CD to Program Files, not Program Files (x86).

Re: [BUG?] Is Beta 36 SUPPOSED to use almost 3 GBs of RAM?

Every time I click on a folder in the Binder, memory jumps. More for large folders, less for smaller ones, but ALWAYS UP. Yes, when you select a folder you're going into Scrivenings mode. In the screenshot, you've got the Scrivenings mode button selected in your toolbar. So maybe the "can't cr...

Re: iOS Font Issue Not Matching OS Project Settings

Scrivener needs the font installed, so you'll need to use a font that exists on all the platforms you're running Scrivener on. I could be wrong, but I don't think Scrivener is unique in this way, you'd probably need to do the same for Word or any other writing app. I didn't find this to be a huge ch...

Tiho, I ran QTDIAG on my laptop and the results are puzzling, to say the least.. => Physical DPI: 157.825,157.655 Logical DPI: 96,96 Subpixel_None This is for a 1920 x 1080 14" monitor set at 100% scaling. QT's physical DPI of 157 is correct for my monitor. But how it then calculates a logical ...
