Re: AlphaSmart (the opposite of the iPad)

Hi.

I just received an answer from the Alphasmart support team: There is no way to install a software driver on the Neo2 in order to re-map the keys.

I quote:

"However umlauts etc. can be produced by using various keystrokes although this process is not very
practicable."

Too bad.

Re: AlphaSmart (the opposite of the iPad)

@AndreasE and typo: Is or was there a Alphasmart 3000 with a German keyboard? The Neo and Neo2 only have an international or the UK keyboard. Or do you know of a way to install a German keyboard layout so I could enter umlauts, the ß etc.? I do not need the "Y" and "Z" to be prin...

If you use a Windows computer:

DO NOT enter the norsemaille site. Kaspersky Internet Security claims that the site tries to infect Windows computers with a Trojan horse.

Re: iPad as a writing/research tool

Thanks for the pictures, Druid.

But the best setup for me is the one using the business card holder. This way one can move the display (iPad) away from the keyboard and put it at a convenient height.

Hi. Another vote for Csikszentmihalyi and Twyla Tharp. Plus: - Michael Michalko: "Thinkertoys" and "Cracking Creativity" (great read both for artists and business people). - Jack Foster: How to get ideas (short and to the point). - Paul Arden: It's not how good you are, it's how ...

Re: Scrivener for iPad

Hi. For me Scrivener does not make sense on a 10" screen. I remember when I still had my iBook, using Scrivener always felt cramped (to me - I know that Keith originally used an iBook for programming and writing). To make use of the Binder and of multiple views, I need a larger screen - 15"...

Siren. Please, does anyone know of a way of eliminating a small rectangular block from the front page of a PDF file, so that it will universally remain edited with no trace left of the original, and which can be saved as a PDF that can be read by anyone (i.e. no particular OS or software prerequisit...

Re: what ???

Hi.

I guess, he wrote his text in German and used a Gernan-English dictionary for translating it.

Almost all the G-E dictionaries I know list "scrivener" as the equivalent to "Berufsschreiber", i.e. professional writer.

Re: PersonalBrain

Hi Marco.

I do not use PersonalBrain (got one myself SCNR). But go to www.outlinersoftware.com and search for "PersonalBrain" - is has been discussed there a few times by a number of people who use their PCs or Macs for writing.
