Re: Drag and Drop Failure

Thanks, but that's not the issue.

1. I saw it failing in Scriv.
2. I experimented, and no matter how careful I was, the selected text wouldn't drag.
3. I did the same thing TextEdit. Dragging and dropping worked fine.
4. I quit and restarted Scrivener, and it immediately worked fine.

Drag and Drop Failure

Today, dragging and dropping text failed. That is, select some text then click and hold on it. The cursor did not change to an arrow, and I couldn't drag the text.

I closed Scrivener and started it again, and then it worked fine. Note that I tend to leave Scrivener running.

Known problem?

Re: Clear/Reset Writing History?

No. However, one alternative would be to create a Project Template instead. (File -> Save As Template) A new project generated from the template would start with a clean history. Katherine Yes, I should have done that, and you've made me realize it's not too late. I saved the project in its current...

Clear/Reset Writing History?

When I start a new book in a series, I simply do a Save As with the prior book, then delete the scenes and any irrelevant information.

However, all of the data for the writing history remains. Is there any way to clear that out?

Thanks,

Re: Corkboard Grid Issues When Resize Cards

I've actually started using the freeform corkboard more. Not for scenes, but organizing my thinking. For example: Screen Shot 2020-06-20 at 9.49.33 AM copy.jpg A trick I've found is to simply make note of the grid size, card size, and card aspect ratio, and be sure not to move any cards without sett...

Want to Confirm: Commit to Freeform Order Only For Current Corkboard

I'm using the corkboard for my scenes but also for organizing something else (evidence).

I want to make sure that when I select View/Corkboard Options/Commit Freeform Order that it will only affect the current corkboard.

Thanks.

Yeah, that's probably it, and it rings a bell. Thanks, SC. I can relax now.

Session Word Count Anomaly

Can anyone account for this anomaly—I'm worried I lost some text somewhere. 1. Before lunch I had exceeded my session target 2. After lunch, I duplicated a scene and deleted the text in one copy of the scene. 3. My session word count was now below the session target. It should have been near 1,000 b...

Remove This Empty Space?

Is there any way to remove this blank space at the top of the list of Collections?

Excellent. I was hoping there was an option like that but had been unable to find it. Thanks.

Selecting From Binder Doesn't Affect Current Editor Window

I haven't noticed this before, but it may have always been there. In the below situation, the left editor window is the active one (has focus). I want the Conference Room image to remain in the right window and go to the "Firm Meeting" document in the left window. But if I click on "F...

Re: Corkboard Grid Issues When Resize Cards

Yeah, I usually avoid the freeform, too. I like to play with it at the very early stages of plotting and use it almost like a bar chart to see the sizes of the different sections.

Good ideas for fixes.

Corkboard Grid Issues When Resize Cards

In plotting my next book, I've been having fun arranging the index cards according to the Save the Cat beats. Screen Shot 2020-05-13 at 2.55.41 PM.jpg I got everything lined up by snapping the cards to the grid, but I found that as soon as I resized the cards, they no longer lined up. Even when I tr...

Bingo! That was it. Many thanks!
