Re: Wrap text

I'm surprised people want to turn this off! But, as ever, you can of course turn it off if you want, as you have found. I'm going to write a blog post on tips for Scrivener 2 users upgrading to Scrivener 3 and will include this in it. Even if I think you're all crazy. :) I'm with you on this one, K...

Re: Windows Install Warning - is this expected?

Yep, this is a default Windows thing. If you click "More info" you can get a hidden option to "Run software anyways" and it'll install like normal.

Re: Scriv 3, the Forum and the new 'Flatter' look

For me, I also love the look 'in general' but I will make an argument for the case of Accessibility. I do this because the OP mentioned poor eyesight. Now, I no longer own a Mac, so I can't attest to the software, but here on the forums, I find the new font very straining on my poor eyes and differe...

Re: Scrivener 2.9.0.1 Beta overwrites 1.9.7.0

I have both icons pinned to my Taskbar, so whatever happened during the installation process did not wipe out the pinned icon. Easy fix. I had the old one "pinned to start menu" (Windows 10) and that, the regular start menu icon *and* the Desktop icon were all just gone. Thus it led me to...

Re: Scrivener 2.9.0.1 Beta overwrites 1.9.7.0

On my WIn10 x64 system right now, where Scrivener 1.9.7 is installed in the default folder and Scrivener 2.9 is installed in Scrivener3, I only show Scrivener 2.9 under Programs and Features. However, if I click on the old Scrivener icon, it still launches. As far as I can tell it is still installe...

Re: Bugs in new forum!!!

Unrelated to previous posts here, but the new font is really a really bad design decision. When typing, I can't differentiate between commas and periods/full stops: , . Also, it's incredibly hard on my eyes due to how faint the lines are. It honestly makes me not want to visit the forums, even thoug...

Re: Scrivener 2.9.0.1 Beta overwrites 1.9.7.0

Thanks! It is possible to have both installed side by side, but you will need to choose a different installation location, as both will default to a folder in either Program Files or your use Documents entitled "Scrivener". To clean this up, uninstall the beta, then manually remove whatev...

Label Colors

I'm having a lot of fun testing out the new Scrivener Beta today! This isn't exactly a bug per-say, and should therefore be seen as low priority but it's something that I've noticed. In Scriv 1 (and 2 for Mac) the label colors "adjust" themselves, in the Corkboard/Index cards, Binder, and ...

Re: NaNoWriMo template?

Okay, so I just downloaded the template and imported my words for the day. I think I shall be writing in FocusWriter (cuz of the timer, mostly) and importing to Scrivener at the end of each day. Thanks to the team for the wonderful template!

Re: Session Target notifications not working in Composition mode

Koa, thanks for letting me know that this is an OS issue, and not a Scrivener one.

Keith, thanks for letting me know about Growl! I had it before the Notification Center was added to the OS but figured I didn't need it now, guess I was wrong!

Session Target notifications not working in Composition mode

Hi all, I'm running the latest Scrivener 2.6 on Mac 10.10 Yosemite. I decided to change my writing style to a fixed word count goal every day, which Scrivener's Targets feature happily accommodates. And this works well with Yosemite's built-in Notification Center as well -- except when writing in Co...

Re: Time target goals

My problem here is that I already use the project target screen to show my total word count each day (I have it set to reset sessions at midnight). What you're describing would seemingly make it to where I wouldn't get my daily word counts, because the individual sprint word counts would overwrite t...

Time target goals

Forgive me if there is already a similar request out there, I searched and couldn't find a relevant thread. People who do NaNoWriMo and similar activities will have heard of word sprints, where you set a timer for 10 minutes, 30 minutes, whatever, and then write like crazy until the ding. I like to ...

Scrivener as Foreign Literature aid

So I'm a Chinese major and am starting a pre-modern literature course where we are going through selected chapters of the Ming Dynasty novel Water Margin and my Professor is kindly providing us the texts and vocab lists as .doc files instead of making us purchase a very expensive book. I am in the h...
