Re: I lost my heart to a Galway girl

I would quite like to participate in the Galway Arts Festival next summer. It seems like a good place to go to as a touring theatre company/practitioner, so depending on how confident I am with material I might be writing some proposals!

Re: search shortcut (a browsing timesaver!)

* Safari: seems unable to do it Safari can't do it natively, but the excellent and free Inquisitor plug-in will add the functionality, and a hell of lot more besides. I've been using it for about a year, and frankly I'm now lost without it. Thanks for pointing me in this direction. This plug-in is ...

Re: OS X 10.5

Lots of little things.
It's wierd - when I first started using Leopard my reaction was "So aside from time machine, what's changed" and then gradually it dawned on me that I could imagine less and less going back to Tiger.

Re: GTD

I think that's a very important question to ask. In the artists way, Julia Cameron talks about creative living being as much about cutting out things that drain us as it is picking things up that enrich us. If everytime, before we engaged in an activity we asked ourselves where it sits in that conte...

Re: I GOT IN!!!

Quick update: I leave at dawn on Saturday. I am drowning in boxes. I can barely move around my room now. The only things not packed are my glasses, my speakers, my Macbook and my guitar. Tomorrow I go to town to tie up a few loose ends; then that's it. Before I was excited, and now I am terrified. I...

Re: I lost my heart to a Galway girl

The rain wasn't too bad. Once you know to bring your rain-mac with you regardless how cloud-less the sky is when you leave, you just get used to it. Besides, they always say the weather picks up once the kids have to go back to school, and it was true. I had an absolutely fantastic time. It was hect...

Re: Cambridge

Go to Clowns Cafe on King's Street. Have breakfast there one day.

Cambridge is great - it has one of the biggest Buddhist communities in the country and is also home to the headquarters of Windhorse publishing (a Buddhist publishing company). It is filled with lovely people and lots of bicycles.

Re: A note on pretty design

Aha - but for something to look pretty it doesn't have to look flashy. Minimalist design is a asthestic choice that can (and in my opinion often does) lead to good looking design. I mean, in terms of web-design 2 sites I would be willing to hold up as good examples are our very own LiteratureandLatt...

A note on pretty design

Just a quick thought: I saw the previous post about Mellel. Within a few seconds I knew I wasn't going to look much furthur into it. This is not because I don't need Mellel. This is not because I can't afford it (although both of these are true). It's because the web-page is ugly. I don't normally c...

Re: I lost my heart to a Galway girl

Was it me or was the font getting smaller and smaller there. Thank you both for your advice/warnings! As far as I can tell this one's a little less predatory in her intentions than some women I've encountered. We'll see if I say the same thing in 3 weeks time I suppose. I need to check I've packed n...

She does indeed have freckles and has Gypsy roots. ... And she plans to go camping in the mountains with me. ... Have you tapped my phone? I'm really looking forward to it - amongst many other things, we're going to be doing some campaigning for Amnesty International at a music festival while I'm th...

I lost my heart to a Galway girl

I will be gone from Monday for 3 weeks. My explaination for which is the following lyrics and a vague comment about a fellow Oxfam steward: Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk Of a day -I-ay-I-ay I met a little girl and we stopped to talk Of a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay And I ask you, friend, w...

Re: I GOT IN!!!

wandering around naked is what being a student is all about!! jeezz!! this may be a generational gap. Or maybe he is better than us. Perhaps. I wouldn't be surprised if my standards drop after a few weeks of being there. I have been known to enjoy casual nudity (including at festivals and d...

Re: SPEECH RECOGNITION SOFTWARE FOR MACS

I got given Claroread by my LEA and it's pretty pointless without Word (which I don't plan to get). Basically, the voices on it are pretty good, and relatively natural sounding, but you get more functionality from Automator if I'm honest. Without word you can get it to read text you're hovering over...
